Another thing from last night - how big is Kyle Walker. He's as wide as he is tall.

 

Im just yhe upper kop and thought they were fine.

If they want advertising boards behind the goal and it's not affecting people in the side stands then why not put them in front of the kop ????

I reckon you'll be fine. I doubt we'll sell out as its a long treck midweek. Failing that, if you need to go in the home end and you need a local(ish) postcode or something then I'm happy to help.

 

They were most definitely not fine. You couldn't see a bloody thing when the white adverts came on. Plenty round me also making the same observations.

 

Shithousery like this is what we have been missing at this club. Powell pushing their sub into the stands. Keep it coming.

So had a long chat with my Burnley supporting co-worker earlier today.

She was really impressed how we worked as a team, the way we defended, pressed and didn't give in.

She said the atmosphere in the away end after the pens was toxic and Walker was getting pelters-they don't like him.

Very complementary and said there appears to be no reason why we shouldn't be playing them in a league game next season as they aren't anywhere near challenging for a promotion spot.

 

Bit late to this, but there were so many positives from that performance.

McCracken is class - he's got so much confidence. Great saves. Quick distribution. Big upgrade.
Welch - looked a bit shaky early on (I think he got megged twice as well), but grew into the game and held his own, especially with the amount of space they had on that side
Pennington and Gillesphey - both so solid, all game.
Jackson - not a fan of him at RWB, but was better second half. Seemed to get in the way of Phillips, and left them with a lot of space in the first.
Touray - good game, crossing not as good as it could have been, and looked a bit tired by the end.
Lapslie - if he had the quality to match his effort he'd be incredible. Great tackle first half, but his first touch is poor, and his passes loose. He's decent backup, with the right attitude, but we need better in there I think. Struggled against the extra men in midfield, who made him look worse than he is!
Cartwright - I thought he was pretty good given the circumstances - I think there's something there. Struggled with the numbers in midfield, but for his first start against quality opposition, can't complain at all.
Phillips - he's great. Positive, good crosses.
Swan - didn't notice him for the first 20 minutes, but got more into it as the game went on, and some great work down the left later on. Never realised how much pace he has. Really positive play.
Beesley - he's a menace. Does so much. Works hard, closes down. Worried the keeper. Against lesser defenders, he's going to cause serious problems and force some mistakes.

Powell - physical, got at them. Bringing him on with 20 minutes to go looks like a solid plan every game. He'll get goals.
Neufville - we looked a lot better when he came on (though Sarc and Connolly came on the same time). Looks to be getting back to his best.
Sarc - tried to make things happen. A definite upgrade on Lapslie when he came on.
Connolly - I genuinely didn't notice what he did. Not a knock on him, just wasn't paying attention enough. Can't have been bad!
Pointon - not enough time to make an impact really.

Great night, pens were fun. Good atmosphere. One of my favourite 0-0 games!

 

I finally got a response from my Burnley supporting mate this morning. I had suggested the United Nations of Burnley were lacking a bit of passion.....
