    Avenue had gone by the time i started watching City. Mid 70's. Where they really bigger or better than city, if you look through the records, there was very little between the teams over the years and obviously late 60's Avenue must have been dreadfull , finishing bottom of the football league three years running and being voted out for Cambridge
    Just been reading wool city rivals , a great book for fans of both clubs. They didn't half get some fans in for two poor clubs in the day.

    Yeah we’ve played them but they are just like Eccy, Brighouse, Thackley and Guiseley to those fans - its tough to appreciate they were bigger than City in years gone by
