I have seen this on the T&A, and as I usually park in the Broadway for a night game I wonder if anyone had any idea to what is actually going on down there and how wide this police cordon is and the likelihood of being able to park there tonight. Does anyone know has happened, is the guy ok?

Emergency services in Bradford centre as man fights for life | Bradford Telegraph and Argus

THERE is a huge emergency services presence in Bradford city centre as a man fights for his life.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said emergency services are at Broadway after a call for a concern for safety.

They added: "A man is being treated for life-threatening injuries."

The man is in the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

A large police cordon is in place on Broadway while enquiries are carried out.

The police spokesperson said: "We would kindly ask people to avoid the area at this time."

Set themselves on fire? or were set on fire? What is Britannia house these days? Flats?

So it's beyond Broadway shopping centre and opposite St Georges Hall area then.

No idea, thats why I was asking. Most things in Bradford are either bookies or empty shops. If it weren't for the football I doubt I would step foot in the place.

You do wonder what could make a person resort to this sort of action
    Whatever it is truly awful

Me and the wife often wander around the city centre and so far have had no issues
Some nice spots for coffee and cake
    Admittedly the shops are average
The problem with Bradford is it is spread over too many areas for the number of shoppers
Foster square retail park, John street, Kirkgate,Manningham retail park and broadway.
Put them all next to each other, it would be a reasonable offering

It's a hostel place for recently declared homeless, I think mainly youngsters, a temporary place till something else (if anything) can be arranged. It's a bit of a tragic place tbh

It is still Council offices. Their customer service centre is on the ground floor. Not a hostel.

Back in the 50’s-60’ it was on a par with Leeds. A great centre. Then some two hats sold out to concrete and rebar.

I know a few folk who have used the service and they refer to the it as Britannia house... presume that's where you access Bradford Foyer... I assumed it was the same place

Went in to the new Darley Street market pre match on Saturday. Nice place to be fair, not sure on the prices in the food hall, not Bradford as my lad said to me. Quite busy in the centre too, still feels like lipstick on a pig though. Odeon opening again will see the biggest change, actually have affluent people coming into the centre in the evening rather than just the cast from the hills have eyes.
Still a dump just with less traffic.

Even the shawarma shop had whacked their prices up. Mortified.
