I think we need to be telling Novak its imperative hes in and around the 6 yard box every time we have an attack. hes got no pace at all but I think one thing he is good at is anticipating chances and getting himself in the right place at the right time. Get donaldson to do the putting himself about donkey work cos he cant hit a barn door anyway.

I do hope the pennys dropped with stu r.e keeping it simple. Our team isn't great but we've enough about us to cause problems for most teams in the division if we keep it simple and play to our admittedly limited strengths.

Wow, if only someone had suggested this months ago, perhaps he'd have done it sooner... oh hang on...

Yer, agree. I suspect Novak has been dropping deeper because there a massive gap in the centre of midfield due to our odd formations. Get him in the penalty area and get Wood and Hosannah whipping the crosses in.

Completely, get cooke running in supporting from midfield rather than having Novak dropping deep. Cooke's another one I really hope will benefit from a simplified system, although I think playing Billy Clarke is to Cooke's detriment as their best positions are quite similar.

That forward line scares me in how ineffective I suspect it will be. Neither of those two are exactly prolific, but I don't see many other choices he has if samuels doesnt look up to it. Failing to sign a proven striker is biting us in the arse again

That’s another big part of our problem , not enough nasty beggars who would give everything out there. we miss an outfield skipper like Davies big time, a goalie ain’t a captain.

Can see Bolton dropping into a low block when out of possession as its not like they will fear having Clarke or Donaldson running at them and it's not exactly a massive amount of creativity to unlock them. WB's are going to be essential in creating gaps with one trying to shift boltons defence over to them and the other being available high up for a quick switch of play.

Here is Boltons team BTW. Can't say there are too many that instantly jump out on that. Although Sarcevic has been a bit of a fav of my in lower league saves in FM20

This could be a good game for us as stus teams are pretty good at widening the pitch and stretching play out wide usually. Most of our good work this season has come from the wing backs pushing on

Just gotta make sure someone out there puts it in the back of the bloody net when we need them to!

honestly.. I think there's a good shape to us tonight if we can get the ball into decent positions. trouble as always will be working their 'keeper. the three in midfield are all comfortable on the ball so the centre-half's should have no excuses not to play into them and just go long. I'd expect Paudie O'Connor to be the one to bring it out from the back, hopefully creating an overload from which we can play. might even sneak a 1-0 here.

If it really is the ancient Donaldson and Clarke leading the line tonight, then i have to question the sanity of anyone paying a tenner to watch this.

I'd be telling Donaldson not to leave the penalty area for the whole 90 minutes or we'll never score.

Good to see Finn getting a game. Hope he performs well.

    Is Sutton injured?

The Bolton fans are expecting a heavy loss based on Twitter. They seem pissed off because it looks like they may also be playing a 3-5-2 when their LWB (Brockbank) is a CB who on the rare occasions he has had to play as a FB its been at RB not LB
