I notice Bolton tickets are now on sale for the last home game of the season , they are treating it like a away game . People with the most points , then season ticket holders , general sale , seems a bit over the top for a normal league game .

I suspect its to prevent Bolton fans snapping up seats in the home end. Lets face it, this is one club and game where the away allocation will be inadequate

That’s how it should be to stop interlopers in the home sections ?

When I go on now it just shows Ticketmaster Purchase history which is a standard thing to do when clubs think the away team will sell out to stop them buying tickets in the home end.

Purchase history I agree, the points and season tickets holders only for x amount of days won't stop unsuitable people gaining tickets, people with enough points or a season ticket are not going to buy and sit in different seats.

    Where does it say this?
I am not a season ticketholder , don't have points but have a previous purchase record.

Maybe we should just give them the whole of Midland Road and TL Dallas because we have, apparently, thousands upon thousands of season ticket holders who never ever turn up for games and don't deserve to keep their seats?

Strange for what will probably be a dead rubber game with both teams already in the playoffs.
Neither team will risk injury or suspension so it’ll be a glorified friendly.

If only we had some sort of playoff structure in place that rewarded finishing higher in those positions. Teams finishing in the bottom playoff positions should not get a home game.

I guess it is all about ££££‘s. Having a two leg semi ensures that both teams can gain revenue, that both sets of supporters have an opportunity to see their team in the Play Off’s, even if one will be eliminated. The simple straight forward reward system is to have the top three promoted and to scrap the Play Off’s.

It has all the mark of a dead rubber game this. Cardiff and Lincoln aren't being caught. It was hard enough before Saturday and now with Bolton picking up just the 2 points and Bradford the 1 it really doesn't matter what the top 2 do (they took 4 & 3 points in those games but it doesn't matter) because games are running out.

There is the likelihood of it being two teams of U21s as all the other teams in and around the play-offs are all taking points off each other too. Luton v Stockport, Plymouth v Town and Stevenage v Reading all take place this weekend and beyond Stockport draws are useless to them.

It had the potential to be box office but it now seems like a potential run of the mill game. However, this is Bradford City, we may have dropped to 7th and need to win this game!

This could be a game where finishing position could depend on winning and getting that home leg second, if that is the case I can’t see mass changes by either team
Both will want to try and keep any wining form going or reverse bad form
But let’s just secure that place first though

Won't this be the match where we pay tribute to those we lost in the fire?

I think it's essential that the club mitigates any risk of Bolton fans being in the home areas for this match.

I don't think the EFL would be happy about teams fielding deliberately weakend teams, particularly at this stage of the season.

So you mean 3rd and 4th place just play a one off home leg semi?

The EFL broguht in a rule a few years ago that from the 4th Thursday in March teams must play their strongest team with that defined as at least 10 outfield players in the squad from the previous match.

I don't see us playing much of a weakened squad in the Bolton game as it will still be about 2 weeks from when the play offs start and we won't want to go into them with players not playing for a few weeks. I also think it's very important for us to finish top 4 as I wouldn't be too confident having the 2nd leg away so it's likely we will need something from the Bolton game to get 4th or possibly 3rd.

Just tell them all our regular starters have headache so we're following protacol, that will suffice.

Within the current set up I'd award 3rd with one off home game against 6th and 4 with a one off home game against 5th, winners of that meet in the final
