I hope the man finds some inner peace. Yes, a man. Billy is no longer a child, or boy.

He lived the dream many a boy only hoped for.
I and thousands of others joined the Forces straight from school ...... It's tough, and you just have to 'Man up'. And that is the point !! You have to !! When I became a civilian at age 22, I was an Army veteran, and my friends were aged about 30, as blokes my own age were juvenile and reckless.

Football Clubs need to take better care with their young players, and not shelter them from the harsh realities of life. I know it's a privileged but short career, but let's not forget it's very well paid. If you want the cash, fine - but accept and work hard for what you get, taking onboard all the components that go with it.

 

Loved a drink round Bradford. Used to turn up in the boozer my sister went in looking for folk to talk too.

Not sure how close he was to team mates. She said usually alone.

 

Didn't two chaps have a bet on C&B about Knott being non-league by now?

 

Must be tough for footballers who have to move across the country, apart from their teammates they’ll know no one in the area. His bird was an absolute 10/10 too so splitting up with her would drive anyone to drink!
He just needs to get plenty of games under his belt. Hope he bosses that league and gets a decent move in a years time.

 

Brilliant. That and Chelsea in the same season.
