Must prefer to be a bench warmer claiming a living for training every week then.

I don't think anyone could have developed them.

It's because of the language barrier, Banks shouted dive right and they dived left, he shouted dive left and they touched their toes, he shouted kneel and collect and they knelt but formed a circle with their arms for the ball to go through just like the one Sattlemier did at Wimbledon.

On Banks' head if he can't deliver. It's a specialist position and demands safe judgement on all fronts.Shouldn't be taking risks anyway as we already have a rookie out on loan.

He’s cheap fits the bill, and we have a number two that hopefully won’t be called on too much! Can’t say anymore than that, but bet he gets slagged off a bit more. Give him a chance if least if he’s called on,

It's on Banks' head if Banks has any say in recruitment.

If he doesn't, the phrase polishing turds comes to mind.

Never understood that phrase....my turds don't need polishing, they come out really shiny.

    Interesting response from Doyle
interesting. He was never offered a contract?? I would rather have him as back up than unknown Ben Wilson.

That could be slightly misleading though. A contract is only offered to be signed when both sides agree to the terms of that contract. I think (I don't know) Doyle will have been told what offer was on the table and he didn't accept it, therefore the contract was never offered.

Like I said Onside, only my opinion but I think City could have been in trouble if they hadn't offered Doyle terms after publicly staying that was what they were going to do.

It’s funny that because the club released a statement shortly after his departure was announced saying they DID offer him a contract.

Yes they offered him terms of a contract which he didn't accept.

Indeed. I’m inclined to think that he was offered a deal and for whatever reason he stalled and the offer was then withdrawn.

Despite what he and Mrs Doyle are getting engaged in with fans on Twitter :( I think he’s only got himself to blame.

I actually think it is his agent to blame, that is what the agent is paid for. I’d be surprised if anything is sent directly to the player. It will be agreed by the club and player who official documents and communications go to and it would be the agent/legal advisor. He was busy during the time frame playing/training with Ireland.

The reality of the matter is, we weren't going to get a sensational shot-stopper prepared to sit on the bench for the season. Keepers don't often get injured and they're almost never fatigued and won't rotate as much. This guy isn't great, but surely not a bad No. 12?

TBF, that’s a poor example. Jones may have had years on the clock, but experience of playing in games was limited. He certainly wasn’t an experienced keeper; he was just experienced at sitting on the bench

how do you know they didn't try sign him and his parent club didn't want to let him go? how do we know he was sent back form all those clubs and not re-called? too many oracle's on this board.

Whilst I agree with you that we don't and won't know their reasoning, if they weren't willing to sell him to one of the clubs who he went on loan to, why would they let him come to us on a free transfer? Though I guess it may be linked to their promotion.
