Ibbitson struggled to get into the Kidderminster team during his loan period. He managed a grand total of 108 minutes with no assists or goals. I would therefore suggest he is not ready only based on that Mrs O

 

I can't remember which of the pre season games it was that he played, but I'm sure I remember a poster on here saying they went and he looked like a boy against men.

 

Sounds like we won't know the extent of Cooky's injury for a few days as he isn't getting a scan until the swelling has gone down.

 

Not a chance Idle, I completely agree, he would be eaten alive in L2. Remember when McBurnie was a young kid? . I thought it wasn’t Parky’s finest hour , but he was left with no choice when Jim was unavailable . Similar scenario?

 

Of all the players we didn't need injured, genuinely can't replace him. Gonna be tough anyone coming in either from the bench or from outside the club via transfer but a chance for some to shine in his absence. Just don't expect a glut of chances coming your way...

The worst thing about Baldwin's defending is he had time to think. It wasn't an instant reaction. He didn't have that voice in his head telling him he didn't need to do it. I was a defender but not good enough. That's why I'm being very critical of him

 

All he had to do was jockey him down thevline but as soon as he came fling over you knew trouble was coming

 

I agree, no need for going in like that, but the Barrow striker's theatrical dive to make it look much worse deserved an oscar

 

Yeah he was badly out of his depth vs Rotherham when Hanson was crocked. Was amazed he came good in the end but just shows!

 

If we learn anything from the summer transfer window, it has to be that if we recruit from a promotion winning side we take one of the main starters and not a squad player. It’s like we go up this year and someone takes Oliver because he was part of the squad, yet we all know how bad he really is.

Yep. I think the logic from the club was probably that most players at this level are much of a muchness so if we can get a few backup lads in then its on the cheap, they’ll do ‘a job’ and we might be able to benefit from their ‘winning mentality’ rubbing off on the squad.

that might be true from Byrne and Sarcevic but Baldwin was turd in the worst defence in the country and we all knew from reports he liked to play it out from the back and was very error prone.

so the mistake of his signing lays solely with our recruitment team, who purposefully traded solid CBs for a ‘sassy’ one, who looks a mistake waiting to happen every week even if he is better on the ball!

 

Olivers wages are probably holding us back in reality, we could have an experienced striker to rival cook in the building, instead of signing unproven kids and cheap options to play up front.
