You're comparing apples with oranges.

We don't play with two 'out and out' wingers, so why are you comparing Gilliead to Crankshaw, when they serve different roles.

Adams has brought Gilliead in as a RM player who's part role is to recycle the attacking play - not necessarily be a 100% creator. Adams and some other managers would argue, that you can't just have two wingers in the top third of the pitch all the time - so someone has to make a sacrifice. Particularly as we have Cooke as an attacking midfielder as well.

If anything I'll criticise Adams for thinking that you can have Cooke, Gilliead and Vernham and you'll get enough support for Cook. It just ends up with an often messy compromise, lots of energy used and inconsistency in play.

Now as Gilliead is today's only creative outlet - I'd expect him to be further forward and produce more

I was about to post that this match is going as I suggested - us sitting deep and trying to score on the break.

I used to think you were just a wum but once that option was ruled out I can only conclude that it's class A narcotics. Probably hallucinogenic ones given that you seem to be able to spot Gillead actually making a contribution.

LOL!! I've said many times on these boards and also on twitter threads to equally deluded posters. Just because a group (or perhaps 'sect' would be a better description ) all agree doesn't mean that you are right and can therefore imply that those who don't agree have something wrong with them.

I know plenty of fans who like Vernam but are frustrated with his inconsistency in the matches. Yes. I tend to be a lone voice defending Gilliead (when he contributes) but only because he's been asked to play a role when he's sacrificing his best play for the time. Like Songo'o did when playing CB

 

Yes but for us to lose 2 - 1 unfortunately, but I'll take the result as it stands.

 

It sort of feels like we've set up to play against them how many teams have been playing against us at home.

 

Fair enough. But I doubt Adams expected Gilliead to be a 0% creator either.
However you want to spin it, 0 assists and one tap-in goal in 13 games before today is unacceptable for an attacking midfielder.
