Somebody mentioned he has had a cold virus all week. They take it out of you, so that might have contributed to his fatigue. Lots of feet up for him.

 

It certainly didn't seem to hamper him in the first 70 mins! Happy days, let's hope hes firing on Tuesday night

 

So looking forward to the game. I will be happy if we get another clean sheet and 3 more points towards safety.

We could be top 3 after the game making the FGR game a real top of the table clash.

That's the game that I feel will give us a chance to determine the real standard of this league.

 

Before Vaughan got subbed he was patting his chest trying to get the benches attention he wanted to come off. Three goals up no point in risking him.

 

TBH just as he made that lunging tackle I thought the ref was gonna give him a red, instead he played advantage to us. Mightily relieved I was.

 

Of course he can! 2 run outs in a week is not too much for somebody in their 30s. If it was every single week and we had other decent options then you may have a point but definitely not having that. Athletes are very fit in their 30s these days compared to 10+ years ago.

 

I equally imagine he’ll be itching to play after scoring on Saturday. I seem to remember an interview after he signed where he said he was feeling as fit as he ever had.

 

I’d keep the same team (assuming everyone is fit). 3-0 win with our key attacking players all grabbing a goal and our defence once again looking solid. It wasn’t a perfect performance but I don’t see any immediate reason to change it. Maybe just be prepared to use the subs a bit earlier, for instance bringing Akpan and McCartan on around 60 minutes if we’re looking leggy.

 

Why Akpan?

 

Well I figured it would be central midfield that we might get tired given we only have 2 in there and Akpan is the most logical replacement. Who else would you bring on?

 

If that's Vaughan performing while ill, were in good hands goal wise. Haven't seen a pure predator like him for awhile (Save your Robinson jokes). The man loves an overhead kick, his shape in the box is fun to watch,hopefully one goes in soon. Donaldson's goal was a class finish, right up there with anything we've seen since Nakhi and prob better. great to see a confident forward line.

 

Mediocre performance?! Granted think we still need some strengthening but can't agree with that

 

No doubt a nice evening out for the London / South of England based city fans

I thought the same for a split second keefly, after all it wasn't all that different to the one on Clayton by the Cambridge player a couple of weeks prior (from what I can remember, not watched it back) and he got a straight red didn't he? Fine margins, or just poor standard of reffing in L2!

 

I'm driving down to Stevenage tommorow from Keighley if anyone who can't arrange transport wants to jump in for a tenner. 3 seats going.

I've posted something similar before, really think its what we should all try and do more as a fan base for those who can't always make it to away games.
