It's absolutely bizarre. People judging players by how much they smile rather than if they can put the ball in the net or not.

Only at Bradford (City for the over 50's).

ha ha Don't say Bradford mate the over 50's will have a meltdown.

    It's #BCFC for us under 40's anyway.

Rowe is probably the most natural finisher we have had in a very long time but he is a luxury in the system we play and I think he will continue to be used as an impact sub

That's not going to work for him or us going forward though is it?

I think Rowe is a maverick, but I don't think he is a luxury as a player, because he can turn a game in a blink of an eye. Worth a lot is a skill like that.

A different level, but he does remind me of a Matt Le Tissier, in that he is accused of being lazy, not tracking back, not a team player and so on. He can produce a superb goal out of nothing, just as Le Tissier could.

    I wouldn't worry too much.

He's 33, and I imagine he's happy to be at a league club that could (potentially) challenge for promotion - that was his rhetoric when he signed for Oldham, anyway.

Sure, he'll want to play as many minutes as possible, but I imagine he'll happily back Cook if it means taking us closer to the play offs where he could shine on the biggest stage of his career.

I think the reason he's only just reached the level he's at, is because he's limited at what he can do. If someone with a goal scoring record like his becomes available, you'd imagine a club in a higher league would take a punt. Vardy who was also late to the party, quickly rose up the leagues and continues to score on a regular basis. Rowe and City need to find what works best otherwise he'll continue to be a super sub.

I think I'm the culprit with regards noticing Danny doesnt celibrate much if at all after scoring, I just find it hard for a pro footballer not to be elated after scoring.
Your comparison with Matt Le Tissier is a good one I'll be more than happy to see him stick the winner in as a late sub and not bat an eyelid, I'll do all his calibrating from my front room .

Same team as Friday for me, if any change probably Evans for a bit more pace as I think we’ll be playing on the counter quite a bit.

Cook needs to start, not playing a goal scorer in his form is criminal even if the management team think he would benefit from a rest.

I just think he doesn't celebrate wildly when he scores because scoring is just what he does. It's nonchalant, not sulky... as I've said before, he's the chav Berbatov

    Exactly right.
Ask any striker in form if they need a rest and i think we all know the answer they would give.

Agree that is the word I used in my original post along with the video, "nonchalant".

No need for the train here, just a walk up the road!

Real shame though (in a total first world way); blooming pandemic. Would have been great to see the match today.
