It might not have come across well on TV but it was chaos is the away end.
I don’t know why Vale section off the seats behind the goal but by doing so it encouraged fans to cram as near to the the goal as they could get, meaning everyone was stood for the whole game with fans blocking the isles in the first half. Had there been an emergency nobody would have got out. The stewards stopped fans standing in the isles in the 2nd half but still did nothing to get fans to sit in a seated area. It happens every time there’s a sizeable away crowd at fairly local games and it needs to stop.
Young kids having to stand on seats to see and elderly having to stand up the whole game is not acceptable.

At this stage of the season, nobody knows whether we'll go up, or not.

From a personal point of view, what I do know is that, currently, as each game comes around, I have little expectation of us gaining three points, whether home or away. Two wins from the last sixteen games adds statistical evidence to that view.

Hopefully, things will change and we'll put a winning run together but, right now, my frustration is growing by the week.

Wow really. I was looking at him and thinking his knees have gone. Thought he was a lot older.

The playoffs are not beyond us but we're a third of the way through the season.

We've drawn a lot of games. Two teams have drawn the same as us - both below us - and two teams have drawn more - both above us because they have lost less.

This month we play Northampton, Tranmere and Scunthorpe.

Northampton are 4th so we do say "another good point against a top team" or do we push for a winner - a bit like we did yesterday to be fair (rather than the stalemate against FGR where both sides just stopped really)

Tranmere are about the same as us, Scunthorpe are towards the bottom.

We need some wins really. Loses would be bad and draws really because we're losing ground against Ryan's stated aim of promotion. (and again this is why it's bad to say such things because it sets expectations. I'm sure a majority would be fine with Adams rebuilding but the club's most senior employee has said we should be promoted this year - those are his words).

I'm sure everyone is expecting 3 points against Scunthorpe but sometimes those teams can go on barnstorming runs and start fighting for their lives. What I want to see is a bit more like yesterday - we had a chance to win and we pressed for a winner. Unlike previous games where Adams has been conservative with subs and seemed happy with a point.

Points aren't helping us much now half the teams in the league are above us! Inevitably some of them will win and go further ahead of us! We need to continue to be more positive like yesterday.

With regards Angol Adams said in the Interview we knew the likes of Angol, Cavana, Lavery had injury problems in the past but it was up to us to manage them, without doubt it's a risk he and the club thought worth taking, I do believe with those three fit and playing regular we will start to see us climb the league.

Maybe I'm simply a thick old so and so, but can someone please explain what this new 'buzz word", xG is in football these days?
Hell, who makes up this crap?

Watch the second tackle in slo mo, He dived before contact was made and bought the free kick. That’s why the ref didn’t book him .

Why do I think Conlon came across as a “poser” type player? Much prefer Cooke when he’s supported by our midfield properly.

Basically means if the ball is in an area of the pitch which ‘could’ produce a goal then the team is great and nothing more needs to be done. It’s utter utter bullshit.

    1 goal from 50 attempts
    1 goal from 1 attempt
    What difference does it make..?

Because 4 points from Northampton and Tranmere would be a decent points tally.

We could’ve / should’ve won the following games and be 10 points better off sitting top of the league but we didn’t and we sit in a failing 11th.

xG is just another nonsense stat that tells us nothing different to the standard possession, shots on/off target.

It would be if we could prove that we can put a running run together.

    A world of difference.

That's like comparing Bowyer to Adams and I know which I prefer to be leading the team.

1 shot per game is unlikely to get you anything more than 1 goal but 50 on average will yield more than 1 goal hence higher chance of winning a game.

And its much more entertaining going OOOO to 50 shots than it is to just the 1 per game. ;)

LOL! I was asking the same question a few weeks ago. It basically means attempts on goal - but it's one of those interesting (to me) algorithms that for once gives some relevant information. For instance, I do think very few teams are missing as many chances as us - which you can see from the table.

I read a stat on yesterday's match report and thought "that must be wrong" - but it isn't...!!

Since the wins against Stevenage and Mansfield we have played 15 games and won 2!

In fact we've only scored more than once in THREE of those games! Two we won and one we drew.

Amazing stats and really, really poor!

On the whole we're getting out of matches and saying "well, a draw was fair" but when we aggregate it up we have TWO wins from our last 15 games!!
