Yes. Ivan Toney could be a reasonable comparison.

I enjoyed the winning things with Parky a lot more

Under Parky I always thought we were good enough to get something from any game, and to be fair even though many games under Stuart we usually had a larger % of possession we rarely turned that into goals and found ourselves hanging onto a one goal advantage, but the football we played that season was a joy to watch at times IMO.

Yes and nobody criticises Parky and never should they, but McCall also achieved the same 5th places finish playing a more exciting standard of football. You missed the point.

No the point is watching decent football ( with for the most part it was but remember all those dull draws early season) promotion and cup runs are more important

What Stuart needed during his second spell at the club was board members that would have taken his passed results into consideration, a little like Julian & Mark did with regards Parky, they believed in the manager even after such a winless run, where as Stuart got us to a Wembley final and keeping us in the top 7 through out his second spell at the club says it all, but then again he was never going to get a fair crack of the whip with that lunatic in charge at the time.

What Staurt needed to do what not agree to a points target which he then failed to achieve. Utterly stupid.

I also remember us going 21 games without winning under Parky. One of the worst performances in modern times was a 0-1 defeat at Carlisle on a Tuesday night. That was worse than anything under Stuart’s second spell.

It was also the first year in a new league when the target was consolidation if not just staying up to be fair.

It wasn’t a criticism of Parky. It was a dig at these divvies that slag off Stuart.

And lets not forget Rahic would not allow him to resign certain players, losing Mezza, Marshall, McArdle, Darby, Clarke, Cullen, Hiwula.

No but the context is important when you're making a comparison.

Both McCall and Parky have done great things for the club over their times here and both will be remembered, even if it is for different reasons. If McCalls first spell hadn’t happened and we were just bringing a manager back who had us top 6 in the league above for his tenure would people be critical? No doubt it was a lazy appointment, but it’s not his fault he just accepted a job in which there are only 92 vacancies in the who country at professional level. He deserves a chance after last time regardless of his first spell, obviously it is last chance saloon but at least give him the chance.

ok, so the football under Parkinson was bollocks sometimes. Under Stuart it’s been more fluid. Does that suit the “context” comment?

Andy Halliday. Defensive midfielder. Free agent. As some on here always like to link us with Former players, here is a name. No tangible current link.....but as an ex Rangers player, with McCall being a former player/manager then why not. At age 28, should be in his prime.

Yep although undoubtedly a little biased. If that's how you view it then fair enough.
