Outstanding season. To finish as the League's top scorer in a side like ours is a fantastic achievement. Thanks for everything Cooky, and good luck next season at Wrexham, or wherever you end up! Gave 100% every week.

A lot of clubs interested so I've heard. Only natural as goals win you games, although don't get you promotion in our case. Fact he went scoreless in our last four games is a damning indictment of a manager not playing to our strengths. Don't think we hardly created a chance for him last four games.

Don't remember him having a chance those last 4 games. Some wonderful interplay between Crichlow, Stubbs and Lewis though.

But he created a number of chances for others yesterday with some lovely knock downs. Just a shame there were no 'others' anywhere near to take advantage of them.
I feel equally gutted for him and for us. Go up and there's no doubt in my mind he's staying but like you say, he is not going to be short of offers from elsewhere and he deserves to take advantage of that.

He won't have another season like it.

Had it on good authority that up until the Northampton game the club hadn’t opened talks with him about a new contract. Can’t imagine they won’t, but they’ll probably need to dig deep to keep him now. For a player Hughes didn’t have down as his number one striker, will Hughes part with a significant amount of his budget (based on what Wrexham might offer) to keep him.

I can’t imagine any talks would be held until after the last game of the season. A lot depended on what league we were going to be in when offering a contract and now that’s decided we should get some answers.

Yet he made chances for other players (offers nothing to the team) yesterday with that header back across goal for Banks, boot on the other foot that would have been in the left hand top corner but I'm not blaming Banks heading isn't his strong point.

I'm sure after the season he's had there will be plenty of interest and I wouldn't blame him if he leaves for one final big pay off, not sure how we can replace him the way Hughes sets up, he's had a fantastic season carrying our play off hopes almost single handedly, if he goes I'll wish him all the best him and Lewis have been the only 2 pluses from a pretty ordinary season, Gent and Hughes have a massive task to get a striker to who can get anywhere near what Cook has achieved for us this season.

Cant see Cook staying in L2. He'll get a few good offers for L1 football next season, I wouldn't be surprised to see either play off winner go for him.

Might be pub nonsense but went out for a few after the game and a group of city fans were on the next table to us, they were all convinced Cook was going to Bolton.

Good luck to him wherever he goes he deserves it
Hope he ends up with a manager who knows how to get the best from him
Had we given him the service his goal tally would have been even better
Any other L2 L1 or championship club would have welcomed that

He lives in the North East, who’s he gonna get a lift to Bolton with?
He’s more likely to sign for Carlisle if they go up.

Hughes rated Oliver above cook, what a insult.

Based on the 21/22 season, you would have to agree.
Oliver had just got 14 goals in a relegated team in League 1.

Cook had just got 14 goals in League 2.

Well it’s likely Hughes will play Oliver as a lone striker next season.
If he does and doesn’t bring in quality wingers to supply chances then it’ll be yet another frustrating season.

Poor lad might have to drive himself l suppose, probably as he did when he was making the trips to Tranmere or Walsall. Carlisle will need a few strikers to be honest if they go up. Garner won't get another shot in L1, Edmondson isn't good enough for that level, neither is Patrick.

Còok has been phenomenal this season but whether he stays or not I think realistically he's unlikely to hit the same heights next year.
We need a different system which has to start with a midfield overhaul.

Coincidental that it’s around the same sort of time we lost our wide left outlet RT?

Pretty sure he'll leave now, but not convinced he'll end up at Wrexham.

Seems like Wrexham are hoovering up all the available talent reading this forum. It’s laughable
