Or realistically recruit someone who can improve on what he brings?
Agree things aren’t working as a team. I’m not sure it’s a personnel thing though - the players and Hughes are commenting every week how we’re too slow, not intense enough, not creating chances or having enough shots.
That’s something the midfield and wide players (including full backs) need to work on.
Get early balls in and we’ve seen that Cook will profit.
Fanny about letting opposition defences get back or into position and those chances go missing.

Correct, it’s the absolute dross final balls from the likes of Smallwood and Ridehalge combined with the persistent playing of Angol on the wing.

 

The goals will dry up for him . Goes without saying I hope he continues scoring but based on his game play which is dreadful then I give him bench often from day end of October at the latest.

 

So if you are Angol or Oliver you are knowing Hughes down door to play down the centre. Would you not?

 

His game play is about putting the ball in the oppositions net, and that's dreadful.

 

If I was Oliver I’d be knocking Hughes door down to play a full 90 mins at CF tomorrow and I’d be busting a gut like my career depended on it trying to get a goal.

 

He should be doing that every minute he gets on the pitch, but as yet unfortunately he's shown very little to suggest he'll take the strikers role from Cook, I would honestly hope Oliver does get game time because he scores goals not because Cooks goals have dried up.
