I stuck £2 on Cookie to Bag a Brace last night after their keeper got subbed on and won £30.

Two assists by Walker for goal from Cook, against Sam Hornby in goal. with Staunton, Vernam and Pattison all being on the pitch.

I did the same, not a lot of quality on show and played in awful conditions, the mic sounded like it was out at sea but I bl00dy loved it!

I bet Walsall must hate Andy Cook - he always scores against them! Surprised Walsall have any fans left after last seasons collapse, if city did that I think I would have PTSD!!

 

Looks like Walsall are blowing it again. They were ripping up L2 initially but their form has dropped off a cliff. Only two wins since mid December and now dropped to 9th.
Their fans must be in despair.

 

Cook's signed for Grimsby on a perm. Pleased for him, hope he has a cracking season.

Two podcasts with cookie as a guest have been released this week.

Not had a full listen yet, but from the snippets it definitely doesnt seem that he was one of the those that Alexander claims were pushing to leave.

Sparks told him of other clubs interest, and he said he wanted to stay and fight for his place. A few days later was told he was done here, spoke to family and broke down before telling his agent to get his move done.

I listened to the Greatness On Demand interview. Cook was frustrated he wasnt getting game time, but by his own admittance he had a meeting with GA on Xmas Eve and was told by him what he needed to do to get back in the team - he didnt agree with it and off he went.

Sounds to me there was an opportunity to stay and fight for his shirt but after so long out he wanted guarantees and regular football.

I guess that is Cooks character....dont blame him. On the flipside im guessing the same conversation was had with Lapslie but he stayed and managed to break back in.

To me its just football - wasnt first and wont be last.

 

Well it seems to have worked....weve progressed from 9th place in L2 to 4th in L1.
