Andy Cook and his future at City (with Poll)

Discussion in 'City Talk' started by Kevin1954, Aug 5, 2025.

?

What is the likely future for Andy Cook

  1. Essential starter (20+ goals a season Or ratio about 1:2)

  2. Important Starter (15+ goals a season Or ratio about 1:3)

  3. Starter but far less influential (10+ goals a season Or ratio 1:4.5)

  4. Impact sub (Success gets important goals)

  5. Sub (Little impact can’t find the net often enough)

  6. Never makes sufficient recovery to feature in a meaningful way

If he'd have finished one of the other two decent chances you'd say he'd had a very good game .... but he didn't.

Obviously we all hope he starts finding the net but I did say pre season that his career doesn't suggest that he's a goalscorer and I think he's pretty much just repeating that trajectory at the moment whilst here.

He'll have the odd burst and while he's contributing then he'll keep his place so we shouldn't be too worried when we've got the other forward options who are currently looking strong replacements.

I could understand Alexander picking him as we were short of fire power but now Swan has started hitting the back of the net, he has to start contributing goal wise.
It would be a brave manager to make wholesale changes but I'd like to see Humphrys play alongside a natural goal scorer, IMO it would take a little pressure off the lad, but then again why would Alexander change a winning system/formation.
