GA is a league two manger he got lucky with momentum despite whimpering into promotion last year, the football is atrocious we have a squad that can play much better football - if he went it would be based on the first 15 games or so because other than that it’s dark age stuff not how I like to watch the game

 

I can’t believe that for the first time in years we’ve had a manager who got us promoted and who has pretty much a 50% win rate and is absolutely committed to the cause, and some fans would be happy for him to go. Some people have short memories. Thank god he’s not on social media.

 

Agreed, he can fk off for me now, just because he got us out of a rubbish League Two doesn't mean he is immune from criticism, we have some good players at the club thanks to the recruitment team, GA's brand of football has run out of steam, I feel sorry for the players having to implement this dross and apart from Power and Walker, most getting swapped in and out of the team.

 

We’ve just had a transfer window where we’ve upgraded in the most part, and let players go who were deemed not to be up to L1 (whether we agree or not). These new players have barely been on the pitch; we’re new in the league and GA has more or less a 50% win rate in league games, yet fans say the want him to “fk off”. Unbelievable.

 

I dont think so, performances have been extremely poor and the format remains the same. Disagree?

 

I don’t disagree that some performances have been suspect but it’s not as black and white as you suggest. Injuries, squad evolving, new at the level. Reality check needed. You don’t just sack the manger after a brief sticky period.

 

It's dumb to continue to punt long balls up to Paul Mullin/ Will Swan/ Callum Kavanagh (gone) / Stephen Humphries as lone strikers and expect it to bear any fruit. Change the system FFS.

As far as Im concerned he can do one if this is how its going to be...the poor away form is not a new thing - it wasn't much different in L2, we nearly fluffed it last season if you look at our final fixtures.

Some managers have a level and I think GA's level is L2.

 

Do you realise implications of changing manager?
It’s not just GA, it’s all the staff and the working environment and ethos of the club.
It would undo all the work that has been done in the last 2-3 years and set us back massively. I think he’ll change things up (as he suggested in the post match interview), he’s not a one trick pony.

 

I dont for a second think he will go. I think (personal opinion) his limitations are shining bright right now. Time will tell.....

 

It’s up to him to evolve as well and I think he will. He’s no mug.

 

I hope you are right because time and time again he approaches away games the same way. Midfield gets battered.

 

We are going through a sticky patch, but some of the comments about GA I'm really not so sure about. Granted some of his decisions are questionable (I don't see how he sees Humphreys as a central striker) but if he does have a limited set of skills I think he's making the most of them. I'd get it if we were in a relegation battle, but we've faced and matched teams that are on another level this season, some of which we couldn't have dreamt we'd be competing with a couple of years ago.

The whole ethos of the club is so far removed from the Adams/Bowyer days its unreal. Also to belittle last seasons achievements is beyond me. We scraped through by the skin of our teeth in the 2013 season and I don't remember wonderful expansive football being played then either.

Perspective seems to be an overused word in the context of our season so far, but perhaps we should also be careful of what we might wish for when it comes to the management of the team.

 

What I found extremely frustrating yesterday was despite it being crystal clear yet again that we were being overrun in midfield, he waited until the 85th minute to bring Evans on. For a man that has got into the habit of making changes at half time recently, that seemed like an obvious one that should have been staring him in the face, but no. I just don't get it.

 

In our last six aways we’ve won once, lost 5. Scored 4. Conceded 12. That ranks 18th in the division.

on top of that, we’re just playing poorly.

bizarrely, Luton have the worst away form in the league in their last six and are just as reliant on their home form.

peterborough, up next, have won 4 of their last 6 aways. Eek.

there are a few repeated problems that keep cropping up which he fails to address either pre-game with his planning, or in-game, until its too late.

the warning signs were there yesterday too, they hit the woodwork after cutting in from their left and had a few other moments down our right, which looks dead at the minute, before they scored.

The centre half situation pisses me off immensely too. He’s still no idea who his best three are and theyre taking it in turns to play badly. Tilt is stinking the place out lately, before him it was Wright, Penno had a poor game vs Donny and couldn’t pass the ball.

it seems Touray LCB and Baldwin are the more reliable of them all.

Can’t we just switch to a back four, pack Evans into midfield and then try prevent being overrun?

 

Think he is a L2 manager and possibly has taken us (under restrictions) as far as he can
More than willing to be proven wrong
No way would Blackburn pay the compo for him bearing in mind he is unproven at L1 level never mind Championship level
that would be a step too far for him
He scraped promotion by the skin of his teeth and Walsall imploding last season and won't be that lucky again
If the club are happy to remain a L1 club then yeah keep him if they have ambitions of anything higher he ain't our man

 

You can't take the last 6 games in isolation, what about the previous 23, lets be honest Cardiff, Lincoln, Huddersfield, and Luton were always going to be difficult, theres only Lincoln and Cardiff who have shown any sort of consistency of late, as you say Luton are very similar to us excellent home form but questionable away form.
Alexander knows if we continue our home form then we may only need 8/10 points from our 8 away games of which 3 are at the moment in the relegation zone.
This isn't aimed at you but some of the stuff I'm reading is more than knee perk they are completely without creadability but it's a football forum so they have the right to express it.
