It's not exactly a denial of the rumour. It could well be that the rumour is true but until the agreement is reach he is still the manager and him serving a touchline ban is a convenient excuse to buy some time

From a footballing perspective, I'd be delighted for Alexander to get the boot.

But what a farce....appointing a manager just after the window has finished. Same old hymn book "lets wait until X can bring his own players in and rebuild in the summer".
