Hahaha, "the more time he is spending with City, the worse he is getting", he's been here for two weeks! Give over!

There isn't time for any development or regression in his playing ability.

As many of us have known for some time, there's virtually no difference between goalkeepers at L1/L2 level, ROD was unfairly demonised, Hornby isn't any better than ROD, I'm not completely sure whether Bass is better than ROD (he might be, but we have limited data to go on), and the more L1/L2 goalkeepers play, the more we will notice their flaws - WHICH THEY WILL ALL HAVE - and it's the clubs job to hide those flaws as best they can.

Expecting Hornby/Bass/any other lower league keeper to be a flawless goalkeeper with no weaknesses is delusional.

Bass reminds me a bit of Jonny Mac when he was with us . Flappy and a bit hap hazard when the ball comes into the box.

I agree I said to my mate last night, looks like he’s another who peaked on debut. Pompey rated Evans as well, maybe time to stop doing business with them! Especially as I watched them against Charlton on Monday and they looked as crap as us could have lost by about 5 if not for shit finishing so I’d take their fan comments with a pinch of salt.

We’d notice it with other keepers as well if we forced them into making a save! Some people just need a scapegoat when the team is crap, suppose a keeper is an easy target. Good keepers are rare even some PL ones make howlers, a good keeper wouldn’t last long at this level.

The performance of the goalkeeper is not an issue at City. The way we play we invite pressure and we don't do basic things like stopping crosses being played into the box which put the goal keeper under pressure.

Since the new year we have played well against 10men in the second half against Salford, but for the rest of the time we have been awful.

v Barrow, we scored twice but were backs against the wall the whole game.
v Carlisle, we were taken apart. Possibly the worst performance we have put in this season and we didn't manage a shot on goal.
v Salford, poor until they went down to 10 men, then the best half of football on the front foot.
v Rochdale, bland and didn't look like scoring but playing a team who also didn't look like scoring.
v Walsall, second best all game a deflected goal and pen masking a poor performance which Bass kept us in.
v Crawley, took a deserved lead but then invited them on to us, a dire second half performance.
v Leyton Orient, no ideas from the start against a team who had scored once in 6 games. Their goal was always coming as they grew in confidence for our lack lustre performance. Then when Adam's hand was forced because we were losing we had to attack and for the last 10min it was clear Leyton Orient were a poor poor side which if we had pressured front the start, we should have comfortably beat.

We have 11 points from the above 7 games, in reality we deserved about 5 of them.

We let a better keeper go out on loan, Bass looks dodgy, Lets hope he improves because even ROD looks better and with our defence a good keeper is crucial

Does Bass freeze at Valley Parade, not talking about the weather either.

Man of the match displays away from home, yet he has looked really poor in the home games so far.

His turn to be called out by Adams in the T&A.

A downgrade on ROD from what I've seen so far.

    3 very rash decisions yesterday.
Came flying off his line unnecessarily in first half and Paudie had to launch the ball in to stand.
Equally rash after the hoof forward in the 2nd half when their number 20 should have taken his time instead of Songo’o being able to block it and after Songo’o gives the goal scorer too much space Bass makes it easier for him by charging out in my opinion.
I’m also yet to be convinced

Not sure whats going on here.. he started off looking like a decent keeper commanding his area well and pulling off some great saves but as the games have gone on he’s becoming ROD 2.0. Wonder whether he’s getting tips off ROD ???

I fear for the lads career.. the longer he stays with us the worse he’s going to get.

Especially when we were desperate for a centre half that never arrived, Chaotic management at best

Sparks signed it off! Honestly he’s a shocking CEO when it comes to football matters at least.

The January window was very similar to the ones we have had over the last 4 years, although we brought in better quality last year but that was to starve of relegation worries. Tbh it felt like we’d given you regardless of what they said.

We watch teams around us with young players with pace, energy and work rate, While we sign static 30 year old cast offs, Is there any surprise we struggle

I thought he turned out alright in the end.Sure,he made a few mistakes, but he learnt from them, and didn't make the same one twice.I think Portsmouth,or someone else, will get a decent keeper with him next seaon.

Hes no need to be an expert in football though Fordy. The decisions are made by others, the only decision Sparks has to make is that of funding. We have had the CEO acting like a football expert before……he was a German, remember Edin?

We cannot have it both ways!
