Two important differences between the Rhodes/Lawn tenure and now.

1, there wasnt an owner that could afford to put extra money in and 2, whilst we were struggling badly, we were not the absolute car crash that we are today.

We are far too deep in the mire for £90k to make the difference IMO, welcome as it might be. The time to be "sustainable" has long gone.

A win is vital, not for the cash but for the stopping of the rot and hopefully the gaining of some confidence and belief. A bit like the Halifax win was the catalyst for better times a few seasons back.

Difference now though, is that if we go one down inside the first 10 mins (I think it was?), I'd have absolutely no confidence of us coming back to win the game. We HAVE to score first. Sad times.

I’ll be there Saturday. It’s a local game for me but Gillingham was also. However after watching the Coventry game on ifollow, and what I’d read, seen highlights of and just the general situation, I could put myself through it. First time ever I’ve optionally done this.

    However this week (along with JR announcement) it feels like the start of a “line in the sand” moment. As well written in another thread I really do see two choices;
    1. Carry on the feud against the current regime and don’t change until they’re gone - which won’t be soon
    2. Rally together, like this club normally does extremely well at, and try to look forward with positivity.

The general issue won’t go away. But we can simply only do our part by supporting those trying to make a difference.

I do not think it will make any difference to the game.

He has not played for Aldershot since mid September, nor has he been on their bench.

He was not substituted in his last game, so no obvious match related injury.

Perhaps dropped out of their reckoning due to form, or an alternative game set up?

Blair Turgott on the telly down here. He's playing for Maidstone in the National League.

They play Macclesfield this weekend in the Cup and he thinks they've got a great chance.

Maybe he hasn't heard that Macclesfield beat League 1 giants Bradford City earlier this season. They might be bottom of League 2 at the moment but any team that is capable of disposing of Bradford City can't be taken lightly ;)

Just watched awful game Haringey v Wimbledon. Conclusion, that's why we beat Wombles, they were dreadful.

Aldershot better than Haringey, more nervous now about tomorrow !

I enjoyed it as a good old cup tie, but yeah, wimbledon were very poor, extremely limited going forward.

Wonder if our lads will step up today or just skulk off into the shadows after another loss? Really need a win today.

My hope is that the players take today as an opportunity to get some proper shooting practice in. I honestly couldn't give a fig about whether we lose or win, I just want to see us creating chances and putting shots in and maybe if we do that, a couple of them might actually go in and the players will have a eureka moment.

Fully agree, funny as it sounds I think we may get something out of this one, 1-2 to city.

I would take a scrappy 1-0 win. Unlike you, I do care that we win. A good cup run would be a massive boost to us

I'd rather lose 4-5 than win 1-0. We need to build belief that we can score goals. Yes a cup run might be a boost but I worry it might also provide an added pressure on the players whose main priority has to be the league right now.

Biggest advantage we have today is that they will feel they've got a big chance and probably be quite nervous and less relaxed than if they were playing a team where they had less chance so they could just give it a go. They'll see our rubbish league form and think they'll turn us over. Even if their manager says otherwise, individually they'll be thinking they can win. So, a good start or an early goal for us and they'll be under pressure.

Come on City. Let's have a win!!
