It's not as amateur as letting someone with no football background pick the new manager.

I'm talking about using real football experts, who know exactly what it takes to be successful at Bradford City and bringing them in purely to help with the recruitment of the new manager. Once that manager is appointed, then all football responsibility falls on that new manager.

Bad managerial appointments occur at 62 other football league clubs that are not promoted.
PL clubs have all the financial resources to appoint footballing ‘experts’ who can then appoint the perfect manager…..then how come Spurs, United, arsenal are all so shite.

This is why Adams is failing here, he is not on the coast like he was at Ross County, Plymouth and Morecambe

    Morcambe won’t take him back.

So do we reckon Sparks decisive action today is to do nothing?

It’s a massive decision probably taken by owner

Of course SR will have to have the final say, its his dosh after all, but equally the announcement would be made by Ryan

Perhaps he could run the club?

Unfortunately the reality is Sparks has little experience in football club management and Rupp has little interest in football at all. Meanwhile, despite his track record at VP, Adams has an impressive cv in lower league football. I don't see a huge positive change suddenly appearing on the horizon at VP whatever the decisions.

    Still a bit grumpy? Nevermind
Unlike Adams who thinks only he is worthy and capable of sorting out our club, there is a lot of interest in football circles about what is going on at VP. Fella I spoke with is knowledgeable,
calm and rational but he's looking forward to retiring next summer :)

Yet in this thread we have suggestions for a mysterious football 'consultant' to oversee recruitment and panel recruitment with some ex players who've commentated on a couple of matches recently, one of whom was one of our best ever signings.

A question - had this panel been together to recruit last time and Adams had applied with his CV and all, would they possibly have seen him as a suitable candidate? mmm - I wonder. Let's have a poll on that.

True, there is some very serious weighing up to be done but in the cold light of day my view from yesterday evening is still Adams should go

Always a bit grumpy mate - modus operandi and all that. We should certainly try and tempt your football fella not to retire. Perhaps he could join the interview panel?

I think for the next manager we have to do things different whilst I agree with you with his CV Adams would have walked into most league 2 clubs but it’s not working and once the atmosphere turned nasty not helped by Adams himself turns sour there is little chance of turning it round.
So I do think a few experienced heads at the interview stage are better than one

I reckon Sparks has decided Adams has to go. Fan’s are n’t gonna come flocking back if he stays.
I’m still hopeful for an announcement. Convincing Rupp that it’s been an expensive mistake might be the delay. I would n’t imagine wasting money is gonna sit well with our ‘investor’ owner. He just wants it all to cost him nothing and give him no grief. If he really cared about the club he would be here.

Doesn't matter what we do recruitment wise if the next manager doesn't hit the jackpot in half a season - he (or she) is outta here.

Let's go back to that interview panel. Two outstanding candidates - one with the record clearly stamped on his CV and the other 'up and coming' with the social graces some seem to desire in a football manager, who can, what, appease fans longer? Which do this panel choose?

I am egging the pudding for effect, but some may see the point regardless of hyperbole.

Adams is shocking in public though isn't he. I suspect what might explain that, but it's all conjecture.

:brig::brig: there is little doubt in my eyes Covid and life over the past couple of years has left us all a little more grouchy! I am seriously worried football is being hit by more hooligan behaviour, both younger 'fans' and short tempered older idiots, as they have been more isolated and everything has been bottled up - but thats a whole different issue.

I am updating some of my own badges week after next (looking forward to it as doing a couple of days at FA St Georges) and hope to see my mate then but I expect (sadly in my opinion) deluded Derek will still be in the job

We have recruited in the recent past a club legend with good managerial experience elsewhere; experienced hands with good reputations; new blood with fresh ideas and knowledge of the club and most recently a success story with a good cv of lower league promotions. None have worked and matched the fans' expectations.

The problem is deeper than simply replacing the current manager.

I will tell you what I was expecting from Adams-not done any homework on him before I voted for him at the time and thought he will be a good fit for us. Various promotions on his CV etc etc.

    Tactically aware
    Man motivator
Able to galvanise the club to one common purpose
    Good communicator

Well how wrong was I eh? He is anything but that from what I have personally witnessed.

I have seen some shit down at VP over the years I can tell you, but I cannot recall ever feeling this detached from the club.

Sat there yesterday freezing my nuts off and about half way through the second half almost got up and went home I was that bored.

Am I likely to buy a ST next season? -dunno. But what I can tell you is that DA is making it more likely to be a NO each and every week he serves up this dogshit on and off the pitch. I just cannot see how the hell is going to get us promoted based on his tactics especially at home.

1 up top at home to a team we really needed to beat to keep our season alive. REALLY?

I would rather lose trying to win rather than trying not to lose. fecking bollocks approach to a game.
