Morale boosting pens win. Hopefully we’ll improve on sat. Not much of a fan of Hughes, but we are where we are and have to get on with the season.

If we lose, even on pens, then it’s a rotten start ahead of the first home game of the season. We’re in the next round, a goal from Pattinson - could have been much worse.

We got through on penalties. We drew the game. Not good enough. I hope the results start to improve!

Performance not great and worrying we are a bit shite at the moment but this is a cup game and it’s all about getting into the next round.

Still so many questions

 

A win is a win. Narrow victories like this - however imperfect they might be - are important to shaking off the hangover from the play-offs and gradually building everyone's confidence.

I quite like that City scored all of the penalties they took.

Sounded like a back-and-forth game to me, and people who aren't happy rarely find entertainment in anything.

 

Big improvement needed on Saturday. Yes we are through, but this was virtually Accrington's second team.
I am not convinced by the formation. if we are to play this, we need proper wing backs. Halliday and Rideaugh are not the answer. I like them both as defender's , but not played like this.
