Match Thread #9: Cardiff City vs Bradford City Saturday 20th September 2025 3:00pm

This match is a bit of a free hit for me, any points are a bonus compared with what most people think we will get.

My main hope is that we put in a solid performance even if we don't win and make Cardiff work for any goals they get rather than giving them away like we've done for most of the goals conceded lately.

If we are to get anything out of the game we will have to start well and get into them physically like Stockport did them last week. The main concern for me is that they are another possession side who play 4231, we saw against Grimsby until their sending off and for a lot of the early parts of the Huddersfield game that if the press is slightly wrong our midfield gets outnumbered and they have an easy pass into the number 10 and they can get at the defence.

 

Unfortunately, because we lost to Donny, we are unable to get the 8 points we desired from the 3 games, but I'll be happy with 5.

The games we've struggled in (Donny, Stockport and Wimbledon) have been when teams have come into the game with a simlar style though... still feels this will be a step too far you'd have thought. Be good to have a weekly update on injured players....I havent heard Richards or Kavanagh mentioned for weeks.
