We are current top scorers so the argument works both ways.

 

If we

carry on scoring nearly 2 a game and end up with nearly 90 goals then it probably won't matter but realistically that won't happen. Sir Alex Ferguson once said "goals win you games, defense wins you titles" and it is spot on and also applies to promotions. Last season when we went on that very good run January to March a huge part of it was clean sheets and the 1-0 wins against the likes of Morecambe, Bromley, Accrington and Harrogate.

Like I said in my post this is the only area of concern I have and it is early days with mitigating factors like injuries at the back and we've 5 of the other 8 current top 9. Last season our clean sheet record for the first half of the season was poor then we turned it around in the 2nd half of the season so we have done it before. I don't think it will be a huge concern for Alexander but I would expect it's something he's aware of and will be looking at it.

Swan's pass for the 3rd goal is absolutely outrageous.

He cuts out 4 defenders and the keeper to give Neufville a tap in (or near enough).

If that happens in the Premiership people would be raving about it all week.

 

Neufville is lucky it hits the defender, looks like its going wide. I'd say its an own goal.

 

Swan has been a ridiculously good signing so far.

For someone with so little fanfare coming in from Crawley he has been surprisingly good.

His engine, movement and intelligent runs and actual contributions in terms of goals and assists are all huge qualities.

 

When opposition fans are handing you praise its time to sit up and take notice. Make no mistake we've beaten a decent side today, one that will be up there around the automatics come the end of the season.

The high press game is very tiring so energy levels are tested. The high press also leaves space for teams to exploit but I prefer that to sitting back and soaking it up.
