Why do we look so sluggish and uninterested from the kick off?!

 

Even when I played crap I got amongst it. I don’t get it at all.

 

To be fair, Weaver isn't a manager who is totally comparable to any situation, given his dad owns their football club. He's had spells were they haven't won for 8 or 9 games and kept his job. He had a spell where they didn't win for nearly 3 months, not many others would have kept their job with runs like that in the game.

Had a decent run in the cup and few times down in NLN from memory and recruited very well with their cup money at the time.

Hope Shepherds injury isn't too bad he looked to be struggling and should have been brought off before it got any worse

If it’s true that the players are not carrying out instructions as per what they’ve practiced in training then it’s the sign of a weak manager.

 

I'm a GA fan.
But when he says, " that first 20 mins can't happen again", I get it but why didn't he say the whole 90 mins can't happen again.
He sounded like the rest of the match was accepted.
Just say we played the wrong shape, got over run in midfield, and going forward we lacked width.
That would have been acceptable to me as he would have admitted mistakes, but seems like we can expect the same shape maybe with different personnel on Tuesday, which again will leave us exposed and over powered.
Fully expecting a loss Tuesday.
Morecambe will be rubbing their hands FFS.
In fact I'm absolutely dreading Tuesday.

 

Raynor should grow some and ask, "What were those instructions?"

 

Im not saying all starting XI, or squad, are nailed on auto quality. But when put in an XI they contribute to a team that on paper IMO is good enough to compete in the top 3. They’re certainly good enough (with respect) to going to Harrogate and winning. Showing up like we did today, and like Grimsby, is simply unacceptable.

I agree there is an immediately recognisable DNA/USP missing from the squad but I do believe this is because some players aren’t playing to their potential and/or been restricted from doing so.

The players and Alexander, all absolutely dire with a couple of exceptions.
But will any of our muppet think tank (Rupp, Sparks, Sharpe, Gent) raise their heads above the parapet to explain their part in this unacceptable charade. Just embarrassing beyond belief after the bullshit we were fed to sell season tickets

 

I don't get the promotion quality squad thing. It was largely the same squad that was here last season on the field, it's exactly the same midfield who can't create and the strikers outside Cook aren't consistent.

But everyone seems to forget that this club was floating between 12th and 15th place for well over three quarters of last season. With two games to go, we were in the bottom half. Finishing 1 point outside the POs with an unreal ending papered over the cracks but this squad isn't good enough.

 

No I'm suggesting sacking the manager 8 games into a new season is NOT the answer, my point to my grandson if you care to read it again was Weaver has been at Harrogate 13 seasons and brought them from sixth-tier strugglers to an above average League two team whether we like the fact they are little old Harrogate better known for Betty Cafe than a football team it might be the fact that any manager who comes to Valley Parade IS EXPECTED to bring success and if he doesn't sacking him is the default option.
I've just heard his post match interview and like it or not he's bang on if you start as we did today your in trouble, we practise fast starts in training all week then don't do it on a Saturday, Alexander brought 3 fresh faces on at half time (which I thought was the correct option and posted as much before half time) are you suggesting he should/could have done it earlier after Cook getting us back into the game on 28 minutes?.

Of course its results driven business where have I suggested otherwise, but if you read what I posted we have brought previously successful managers into the club and they have failed, out of interest at this present moment in time what would you do with the situation Alexander finds himself in.

 

Because the owner (Sparks really) put some words on a piece of paper telling everyone that.

It doesnt even bother me anymore thats what Rahic and Sparkes have done to me i used to get angry but i simply cant

GA will be gone by november the next messiah will walk in and the cycle starts again and sadly it will go on while this lot are running this club

 

To be fair Steve we did sign 6 centre back and received criticism for signing too many defenders. It’s a bit unfortunate that 4 and now maybe 5 are crocked.

 

Yup, after that shambles Raynor was very weedy today - that needed some serious questions

 

As if todays game wasn't depressing enough, I've got 2 night shifts to look forward to......Hoo-bloody-rah!!

Parkinson went 21 games without a win and we didn't show him the door, because at the time the owners believed he would turn it around, unlike the situation with McCall under Rahic, of course his dad being the owner will have some influence on his decisions, I'm sure Simon and his dads discussed the situation during those times.
