I presume Joe Taylor had been playing well before today, scored 3 or 4 lately, but May certainly looked the better player today.

By the way, Town paid £3m for Taylor!

 

Their fans are all claiming that their sub Kasumu (18) should start away from home.
Thought he gave them a lot of forward impetus that they lacked before he came on.

 

Cardiff have been very poor, they've been bullied by a much more physical side

And as I say that Cardiff score, they've not really deserved that but credit to them for keeping going especially for such a young side.

 

Gives us a bit of hope for next week if they dont like it up them.

 

Listening to their commentator they got away with it at Wimbledon and to a lesser extent Luton. If we get at them and press high we have a chance although they are set to concede a league goal from open play, only 2 goals conceded and both were penalties.
Looking at their stats before today they've got the lowest xG against, xG against per shot and highest xG overperformance against. It does look like they allow quite a few shots against them but a lot of them are from outside the area so they're not even giving up big chances.

 

Wow what a day!

First 15 or so they looked a decent outfit and should have been at least 1 up but then after we scored they absolutely went to pieces. Looked like a pub team until Baldwin went off and we sort of sat back a bit.

We also looked better when Patto went off as lapslie came on. Hope he is OK BTW he took a right whack to the face.

Their fans also were also piss poor as opposed to our amazing vocal backing today.

"Dog shagging bastards you know what you are" chant made me chuckle. I was hoping for a rendition of "You have been pecked by the chickens"

Whilst there weren't actually 24K in the ground it did sound like it.

As Mark Hughes proved-playing pretty football doesn't win games. Their forum has gone into meltdown just like that dog botherer who called into Radio Leeds. Radio GOLD.

Great bounce back win but just starting to worry about the number of injuries we are stacking up so early in the season.

Oh and Sars was immense and MOTM for me-split-Bobby for his hat trick and Wright-great interplay down the left caused them no end of problems. Neuf up there as well.

We were top for a short time. I will say that again Top of League 1. Even in my wildest dreams I wouldn't have had us anywhere near the top 3 at any stage of the season. But now?

 

This team and squad are just amazing; yes they make mistakes, but they are never short of endeavour. They will not give up, and you could see they just loved the fans. They all were just brilliant today. Tyreik Wright was just wonderful, and my MOM. It’s hard to pick one when have all been brilliant.

I have been Down at the Mac and wished them well lol, I have left them sacking their manager, and just dogs abuse to the players.
I nearly didn’t make it today, upset tummy, but I thought of @Loyalbantam words ringing in my ears and put on a brave face as I didn’t want to be a blue dot!

Tommy Leigh came on when Pattison went off. Lapslie was an unused sub.

 

Players were proper up for it today. First 10 minutes, we didn't settle and they got through a few times but the deflected effort onto the bar was all they could muster.

As soon as we scored, there was only one team in it. Town got worse as the game went on but huge credit to how we managed the game, especially the second half where I expected them to come out all guns blazing. They were spectacularly bad and didn't really seem to give a shit. I'd be livid if I was one of their lot.

Fair play to the somewhat makeshift back three, I think it helped having two genuine attacking wingbacks on the pitch and that's no slight on Touray but it gave us more pace at both ends.

And as for Pointon, what can you say? Big game player and the top scorer in the division. 'Too lightweight' according to some on here though. Do me a favour, he's already shows he's a top end player at this level.

So many positives, onto another biggie next week.

 

I was amazed at how bad they where in the 2nd half was waiting for a reaction but nothing and i think it was down to our sloppy play that they did look ok in the last 10 minutes.

Just look a half decent team until they concede and they go to pieces its happened a few times to them this season

Still the backward twats will make out its our cup final even though the twats have actually never seen the club play in a major cup final.
