I was never a fan of his "Up the F*****g Chickens" I know it was a bit of banter but thought it was a little disrespectful, similar to Lee Sharps comment about us being the "Dog & Duck now it looks like Simon Parker has taken up the mantle and finishes his articles with the same comment minus of course the F*****g , I didn't boo but did smile when he was a part of our first goal playing out from the back never the strongest part of Harrys game shall we say.

Bloke a few seats on from us spent the entire second in a fit of rage at the hapless Lewis. Bordering on worrying behaviour, quite obsessive for a player I couldn't give two shits about.

Because there are no snakes in Ireland. Reputedly driven out by St Patrick! (Grealish and Rice are of Irish origin).

Both played U21 for Ireland, in fact Rice played 3 times for the seniors in non tournament games. They both took a chance that they'd be good enough for England and switched. The snakes are back refers to the myth that St Patrick rid Ireland of snakes

There are loads playing for England (not necessarily last night) who have Irish (or part) ancestry. In addition to Rice and Grealish, you can add Kane, Gallagher, Maddison, Bellingham and Maguire. I would think others may well have Irish relatives.

Despite his soft Coventry accent Graham Alexander is of Irish/Scottish parentage.

Typical for me. Missed a win. As sunning myself in Greece. We always seem to win when I am away. If you all want to club together and pay for a permanent stay. It could be promotion guaranteed. I am willing to suffer for you all. well done to the lads sounds like they battled hard.
on another note my grandparents were Irish , but I am definitely English and proud of it

That's Callum Johnson. Baldwin has always been a centre half as far as I'm aware.

I politely clapped him. He's an ex player who gave his best for the club and we even received a bit of cash when he moved on. I'm certainly not going to boo him for it.

Me too. I don't get the booing. They'll be the same ignorant idiots who didn't bother to find out that he turned up for the memorial service.

Nice to hear about him, Doyle and Walker embracing at the end.

Life moves on and so do players. Fans need to as well.

Jack Grealish .. born in Birmingham which remains in England so far as I know! His eligibility to play for Ireland was nothing to do with where he was born or even his parents. He was eligible because of his grandparents having been born in Ireland. The use of 'snakes' is therefore slightly misused but a nice religious touch nevertheless.

Rice was born in Kingston-on-Thames, and qualified through his paternal grandparents from Cork
