Those two attempts at first time balls when in excellent positions in the first half were woeful. Similarly the attempt to shepherd the ball out of play when it was clear that it was too risky and needed clearing was very poor. He needs to do much better.

That was a cracking pass, not often seen in L1/2 in all the games I watch .,

I don't understand why you've just mentioned the right pegs for the right holes and then want a centre half to play wing back?

Surely, if you wanted to replace Halliday, Jay Benn or Johnson when fit would be the logical choice?

They were awful, and their end product poor. Not the team we recognise ……Where has all that money gone to?
As someone said Rod…They are getting their trousers pulled down. Notice how Lewis spilled a simple catch , just like Walker did…….Both landed in different places!

Walker was free on the contrary, they paid quite a few £1k ‘s for Harry as a panic buy trying to escape relegation.

I think getting a settled side and building partnerships is key to whether we have a good season. Odour was limited by getting used to his role and what those around him were doing.

Similarly, at times I thought Diabete and Halliday were getting too close to each other and then leaving space for Niall Byrne to try to cover. Without doubt they worked well together to defend at times, but there needs to be lots of work there this week if they are going to be the main players in those roles.

Despite the feeling that we are finding our way a bit, I'm erring towards us having a better season than last if we can avoid injuries to key players. As a few have posted, Richie Smallwood is in great form and we have the best striker in the division.

FFS imagine my shock that you would say this. I boo’d his every touch from the first minute to the last, as did many fans around me. I was raging when he came out at half time and our fans clapped him. I just really do not get the love in. He wasn’t a legend or great servant of the club, he was so error prone that I can’t believe we got money for him. Why didn’t wyke get the same respect and love? He was much more effective for us and earned us a much bigger sell on!!

This is the difference between us and clubs in higher divisions. They don’t have a soft underbelly for former players, they will intimidate them into making errors. Why TF would you want to clap like a demented seal for an opposition player ?? Lewis should have got a mediocre clap before KO and then plenty of grief

Hopefully you happy clappers have now got it out of your system and can now let go of your obsession with the guy, personally I hope he ships plenty more this season and they finish bottom. He chose Carlisle as a step up remember, we didn’t push him out

I respect your opinion but I wouldn’t agree. The memorial was 4 months ago, send him some love on social media, not encourage him to win against us for a team that we need to get revenge on

No offence intended here Steve, but it’s a bit weird to me to act like you don’t care about a player because they weren’t a great servant or club legend etc. then spend all game booing. Personally I didn’t clap or boo he was an opposition player and I treated him the same as their players whose names I didn’t know. Same with Wyke as well. Unless it’s a McCall or Hanson etc. then I’ll give them a big clap, otherwise they don’t register to me. In fact booing or clapping can motivate players, something I’m not inclined to do. Both show someone cares though.

No offence taken whatsoever mate. I probably exaggerated saying I boo’d every touch, and I certainly didn’t stand up and bellow at the guy with rage. I just casually added to the noise

Totally agree with you, if it was a Hanson type returning then fine, give him some appreciation, he would deserve it. But not a player like Lewis.

I neither booed or clapped, but of all the players who've passed through this club I think he tried to buy into what it meant to the fans. Who knows the reason why he wanted to leave. He saw the turmoil behind the scenes, the rudderless ship and turnover of managers, the different styles of play and fan unrest. I can't blame him for wanting to go, it's a short career. He showed respect by attending the memorial and as far as I have read, he's never bad mouthed the club in any way. In truth, I thought the booing was more pantomime than sinister.

My mistake, I thought Baldwin was brought in to push Halliday at right back. He seems to be able to pass more accurately.

That's how I saw it too, definitely pantomime that added to the overall atmosphere. I didn't boo or clap but had he let in 3 or 4, I would have definitely joined in with an ironic chorus of Super Harry Lewis in goal.

Not going to scroll through 19 pages to see general opinion of the game. I thought it was a good advert for L2 with some entertaining football from both sides.
I thought Cook, Walker(Jamie), Sanderson, Diabate and Smallwood were the better players in that particular order. If we could just tighten up in midfield a little we'll definitely win more than we'll lose.

I wasn't even convinced the one he was shepherding out was going to be our ball anyway

That was Callum Johnson, unfortunately injured of course, no recent updates, however I think it was telling that they brought in Jay Benn

To be perfectly honest, I found the incessant booing of Lewis cringeworthy.

If he was all the things you say about him. Then why bother ‘booing’ him, is he really worth it.

I certainly didn’t clap him, when he came out at half time.

It's embarrassing when it goes on and on.

I think you're massively over estimating the influence of a bit of applause. If anything getting roundly booed is likely to have a positive impact on his performance. How often do we see players raise their game in response.
