Chuffed with that, fast start was exactly what we needed today. J walker pressed them to death what a shift he put in.
Cook scored his 75th goal for the club today, what a player. It’ll be a travesty if he retires having never got a promotion with us. Brilliant day all round and on to next week

 

Probably not the most convincing performance, however, I really enjoyed the match today.

Smallwood was my man of the match, I thought him and Walker were excellent in midfield. I'm not convinced with Oduor in that role today though, more of an impact player off the bench for me.

Impressed with Diabate today, very calm and won most of his headers. Byrne gets better with each match and never troubled really.

Cookie, what can I say, a right handful all day and two very well taken goals. Loved that 2nd goal in particular.

Much to be happy with, still work needed of course, but the squad certainly look capable of mounting a promotion challenge.

Felt for Sam Walker with his shocking error as otherwise he had a fine game. I'm still concerned we have nobody to challenge him though.

 

I'm not saying we were poor. I just hoped to see a slightly better start to the season. League position means nothing at all at the moment. The performance is the indicator. If we play as we are we will have a very similar season to last season.

 

They won’t be anywhere near the top 8-10…..Forward line is pretty abysmal.

 

Can anyone say what happened at the final whistle for this comment from a City fan ?.

"Note to Carlisle fans, even though we won we didn’t feel the need to charge across the pitch and throw coins at you. Bit more class I suppose lol"

Oh come on, they were awful defensively , average middle and approach play , then………..?

 

Reference to the play off semi. Their fans pitch invaded and ran over to the away end and launched anything they could. Seem to remember a few getting some nasty cuts.

 

TBF they did hit the post and had a few shots on target. Their 24 was a real handful. They will finish in the play offs at least.

 

Steady Aidrian, positivity is frowned upon. In all seriousness , a far from convincing performance , but a result is 3 points. We have played miles better and got nothing. I agree with your performance comments btw.

 

We didn't create much, two of our three decent chances coming from their defensive mistakes. I enjoyed the game but neither side particularly impressed me, far too much sloppy passing from both sides. I think today summed up what we, and most teams will see in league 2 this season as there doesn't seem to be any stand out, maybe Doncaster at a push.

 

Clinical Cook at his best today, on another day he could have had an hat trick.
Sanderson got through a hell of a lot of work today giving Andy a breather with his hold up play.
Sanderson certainly knows how to bring others into the game.
Like what I've seen from the lad so far.

A slightly better start to the season one defeat in 5 and as I posted players still bedding in players finding their feet, I really don't understand what your expecting were joint third and we've hardly set the league on fire, why are you predicting a similar season as last season, you mean when we finished a point from a play off place.

 

Was that Cook? Hard to see from the lower kop? Makes a change for Cooky to get a chance, must have been in shock at a decent set piece for once.

 

I think they will be there or there abuts but here's a comment from one of their fans, and many of us were asking why Bradford City cant get investment/new owners, after these guys backed Paul Simpson.

34 league games played since the Piatak family took control of Carlisle in late November last year. Since then: 5 wins, 4 draws and 25 defeats.
