He was far from alone on bad game management today. I can't understand what the plan was from the corner we had in injury time, we didn't send the centre backs up but still put it into the box, it was a terrible corner then to make it worse Power is too slow to get back onside and we pass to him so give away a free kick. Either you commit to putting a corner into the box and sent the aerial threats forward or you play it short and keep the ball.
It is concerning how many experienced players looked like like young pros who've not experienced the pressure of a play off race before and it spread through the team.

 

Just looking back at their equaliser and Tilt comes running out and heads the ball up into the air straight back to them. He then runs back behind the lad who scores, but runs on the wrong side (the scorers right), even though the ball has been worked down the left. He’s then too slow to get back and block the shot. NotTilts best game today…

 

You need to stop this obsession with comparing us to Huddersfield, it's every thread.

I couldn't care less what they are doing, if folk wish to make an expression about city being crap today they can.

City don't get free reign simply because they are above Huddersfield

You may be surprised to find out that doing well in a league leads to you being better than multiple teams but that doesn't mean that every bad result doesn't matter because at least we are better than X, Y, Z.

 

Who was your aspiritional benchmark for the newly promoted season? If it’s Leeds et al then you are heading for a life of constant failure, whereas I put money ( for BBU ) on City to finish HIGHER than a team spending treble what we are with aspirations of automatic promotion . That team being Huddersfield .

I assume you didn’t because you had zero faith ?

On that basis I find their disappointment delightful. I’ve seen the ups and downs of promotions and relegations over 65 years , so it’s nice to be smiling for a season or two.

If you look from 11.57 on this vlog you get a good view of the incident clearly from Cleary.. oh deary.

 

I have to give credit to Barnsley though. Didn’t stop trying and their equaliser was a well worked goal - something Pointon would have scored. The ball inside the fullback and the cross was something we didn’t attempt all game.

I’m a big Tilt fan, but today was something of a namesake for him - tilt on a pinball machine going up and down and something a bit chaotic.

 

I’d be happy with 5th or 6th. We have to be at home in the 1st leg or we’ll be out before we even play the 2nd leg.

 

Yet we haven't lost away to any of the teams that we could face in the play offs.

Our away form over the season is 8th best in the league, would have been 6th if we held on yesterday.

Apart from Luton, we havent lost away to any of the other teams we are likely to face.

We are not as doomed as mamy would have us believe negotiating a play off away leg

 

We've actually won more away games than in last year's promotion season. As GA said yesterday, our game management was awful. No way should we have been so open in injury time against 10 men. I do think sometimes we lack the characters to deploy a bit of sh*thousery in away games which sometimes is needed to ensure you get over the line.

 

Shithouses we are cringing on them not getting bookings so they miss the play offs you mean ? We can’t have it both ways MB?

 

Power is the only one under the threat of that I believe. Anyway Im talking more about doing what they can to wind the clock down. Taking it to the corners, taking the maximum time over free kicks, corners and throw ins etc. We never looked in control at all yesterday, even when we went ahead v ten men.

 

100% agree . There’s game management ie timewasting which I detest no matter who does it because it robs the supporter or one can manage the game by better pass and movement to keep the ball and game initiative . The opponent won’t score if they can’t get the ball?
