When you have 5 at the back as we did at times they all need to know what's expected of them and second half not one defender looked confident, Alexander for reasons only known to himself once again tried to shoe horn Kelly into the side wtf, when attacking we consistently beat the Swindon defence.
Although Pattison looked nowhere near what we know he's capable of why Johnson ?, we basically had the kid Khela alone in midfield with no one capable of putting their foot on the ball and holding it for runners, yet we had 3 attacking options on the bench and were actually winning the game, but IMO Alexander should never have been put in that position with regards changes.

Only just calmed down to be able to write this.

Firstly it’s important to acknowledge that even down to 10 men, offensively to still score 4 was an effort from the lads which I am immensely proud of. That said, it’s sadly overshadowed by how weak those 5 goals we conceded were.

I’ve seen us countless times against 10 men, and frustratingly watched on as the opposition organised themselves and resolutely defended. Today we did everything but. Our shape was all over the place and couldn’t see what GA’s changes were actually addressing. Every time Swindon attacked we looked like we could conceded - I’m surprised it took as long as it did to go 3-3. When we score the 4th you think that’s it, surely you tighten up as much as you can, but no, we looked almost more open than we did before.

I hope we can all brush it aside and forget about it. The sending off mostly wrote the script and we added the finishing part with some poor decision making and lack of discipline.

I’m not turning on Smallwood. I can see both arguments for and against a sending off, but if Smallwood goes I don’t know how the Crewe lad who fouled Pattison last week didn’t see the same.

I don’t see any chance of a successful appeal for the red (even if they submit one) so we’re going to have to do something that we’ve not done all season, and manage without our captain.

He's probably still in the process of ripping off Smallwoods head

No it wasn't it was a bloody stupid challenge that was not required and certainly not where he did it, if it had been to stop a goal scoring chance then fair enough but on the halfway line there's is no excuse for me, sorry mate it was reckless at best.

Currently 2nd. But yes, let's sack the manager who's taken virtually 92 points from the last 49 matches.

    It’s on BBC Sounds now.
He’s refusing to comment on the referees decisions !
Said he didn’t even see the sending off!

He tackles like that every match it’s his game. Mistimed probably but if you take the tackling out his game it suffers

I'm not disagreeing its his game and he wouldn't be the Richie Smallwood that we know without them, but it wasn't the actual tackle that got him sent off it was the follow through which like it or not was not controlled and deemed as reckless by the official.

Why appeal? He was quite rightly dismissed. No chance that gets overturned. Take the rose tinted specs off. Wasn’t in control and it looked horrible.

It wasn't mis-timed. He won the ball then continued with a particularly nasty looking follow through.

He lost his head, no need to do a tackle in that position of the pitch that early in the game.

We needed him today against one of the better attack minded teams

He not only one to blame for that defeat, which still bloody hurts.

Let's hope this doesn't affect our players for the upcoming games.

Do they tell that to the Port Vale fans when he rested 3 of their best players for the Barrow home game ;) even after today disaster result wise I'm certainly not writing us off of winning this league.

He probably didn't need to make the tackle but I've watched it back a lot and it doesn't look like red card.

In slow mo it even looks like a good tackle.
1 foot on the floor, ball first...

If I knew how to upload a photo I would.

Walsall losing good old Barrow, although many say stats mean nothing they have had 12 shots to Walsall 3 on target to Walsall 0, if only :sob::sob:.

In the post match interview GA said there had been illness in the camp this week. Pattison was suffering at half time which was why he was subbed.

Pattison was very poor all first half. Sounds like he shouldn’t have been playing.
