Not sure I agree with your last comment, but I do agree he gets away with similar tackles match after match and many have said as much many times on here.

 

Two weeks wages maximum fine for Smallwood
He might have cost the club and the fans far much more for a moment of stupidity from a supposed experienced player
We were cruising, what the hell did he think he was doing

 

Well, kick in the whatever's that was. Smallwood, well needlessly reckless at 2 up and cruising. Putting every defender available on for second half was a baffling decision and yet we went 4-3 up. But, so many defenders I am sure contributed to the goals conceded. Whose job was what? I knew there would be twists and turns but that bloody many in one game.

 

We absolutely will not win the playoffs,we are so crap away from home and I don’t think the players will be able to motivate themselves for a playoff campaign after missing out on automatic promotion.

 

Got the Port Vale/ Bromley game on can they screw up as we and Doncaster have today.

 

Their game changed when that young lad Ameen came on

Turned some of our players inside out and looks like he’s gonna be a decent footballer

Totally gutted after that. 3 points tossed away. We were always up against it after the red but just packing the defense and expecting us to hang on shows GAs limitations as a manager imo.
The players chased shadows most of 2nd half and by the end were running on empty. Filling up with extra centre half's and still giving free headers in a massive game brings back memories of Carlisle all over again.

We were all over the place as you say defenders looking like they weren't sure of who should be where, it reminded me of Carlisle game where Hughes brought the extra defender on trying to play for pens.

 

Interestingly the club have been trying to get him to sign a long term deal but it seems he has his interest from higher up the leagues. He was great to watch on the ball

 

Yeah 7 defenders who cannot prevent crosses and defend high balls into our penalty area - not good enough.

Those half time changes just invited pressure on us. No out ball as even Kav was defending. Too many cooks spoilt the broth at the back.

TBH I thought the red card was pretty harsh. It was nowhere near as nasty a tackle as the one on Pattison last week, which saw yellow. But there was no need for Smallwood to dive in so strongly in the middle of the pitch when we were 2-0 up, running the game and had defenders behind him.
That could possibly be the moment that costs us auto promotion.

 

I hate football

 

No chance the team who bottles the top three wins the playoffs. If we don't get third place then its season over
