Secondly the manager who went far too defensive against a team who were awful defensively. Get at them the result might well have been the same , but 7 defenders was asking for trouble and the result was exactly what I thought it would be when he did that

I still cant get over the fact we had 7 defenders on and conceded FIVE… like what!?!!!?!??!?

the defence were just stood there ball watching.. again alexander really messed up with his tactics… but damn smallwood what an idiotic thing to do..

 

Same with Shepherd and his big baby antics. The lad is a decent defender but I really dislike how he plays the game

 

A case of damned if you do damned if you dont though. Go too attacking and he would be accused of not shutting up shop.

Smallwood IS to blame, he is our captain too which makes it even worse.

 

You have my sympathy mate my grandsons down there with you it will be heart breaking driving back after that very poor defensive performance second half, safe journey mate.

 

No need to bring all the defenders on. Go to a 4-4-1 not chuck every defender we have, onto the pitch so no one knows who they’re marking or where they should be. Swindon were absolute crap and uninterested until Smallwood got sent off. Why did he have to go in like that when we were cruising.

 

He was thumped in the back and playing for time to hopefully gain a precious point. What do you want him to do?

 

smallwood invites cards week in week out slly niggly fowls,then gets inthe refs face arguing the toss. Definitley not a leader.get rid.

Yes there’s been a good few occasions where he could have seen red and hasn’t. He’s also not been as good as most have been making out, just set the bar very low in his first two seasons. I imagine GA wants to rip his head off

 

Stupid decision to sack the midfield and stick a bunch of defenders on. We were bound to get bombarded

 

I think fans would feel better now if we went for it and lost by having a go

 

I'd like to hear Smallwood give a post match interview as to why he made that challenge especially where it was, there was no need and as our senior professional he should have known better.

 

Emotions are naturally high right now and our skipper cost us today, yet to be fair to him he's the main reason we are technically top right now, well until 4.45 pm. I'm annoyed at what he did but the lad will be gutted right now and I guess will be feeling pretty down. Let's not lose faith in them now.

 

Of course Smallwood is to blame. Cruising at 2-0 before his reckless sending off.

 

Devastated tbh. The way he set us up for the second half was tragic. It meant unbelievably our players had to run around out of possession for long periods. We are a team who play positively asking them to do the complete opposite was madness.

 

I'm afraid that's a huge psychological blow, defined by the manner of it. I don't know how they recover from that defeat but recover they must. I've zero confidence of our chances in the pay offs.
