I don't disagree that Smallwood's tackle was reckless however Alexander tactics playing 7 defenders for the whole of the 2nd half and sitting back was very naive and stupid. Their defence looked worse than ours yet we didn't attack them 2nd half at all baring the goal.

 

I have to say I didn't understand the Kelly for Pointon change, Pattison was nowhere near his best giving them the a fillip with their first goal, but why for Johnson, we can only assume Sarcevic could not do 45 minutes.

 

I'm fuming that we shook hands.

Those crosses from the left were dangerous, they had too much time and space and a 6'5 striker. Hindsight but Alexander didn't exactly cover himself in glory on this given how fragile they were at the back.

Some good news Smallwood will be back for our play off campaign

 

On reflection, Smallwood isn't to blame here. 75 minutes plus 12 minutes added total and our manager makes the most mind-numbing changes and sets us up massively to fail. We played that second half as if we were too scared to have a go. Alexander bottled it today and is the reason why we lost

 

We are crap away we will lose at Chesterfield and Donny

 

Were only 1 goal worse off than we were at kick off, we, Alexander/Smallwood who ever we want to blame screwed up but Doncaster let us off only getting a point at home.

 

As the dust settles on 90 minutes of madness, could Smallwoods moment of madness be another season defining moments? Now missing our player of the season and captain for three of the remaining four games of the season, it couldn't have come at a worse time. Couple that with if we'd have won today, which at 2-0 up and in control I'd have said we were pretty much nailed on for the automatic spots.
Alexander now has a job on his hands to pick the players up for Notts County, if we are gonna go up we ain't gonna make it easy for ourselves that's for sure.
