Throwback to league 2 that game.
2 outstanding saves from their keeper was the only real quality.
I wouldn’t be paying to watch Stevenage every week but hey ho it’s got them this far.
I wouldn’t want to have them in the playoffs to be honest, think we’d genuinely have more chance against a team with more quality who want to play

T Wright and Bobby missing takes away any threat from the left . I fear they won’t be fit before and if we get to the p/offs?

I’d struggle to watch that every week. No wonder they are poorly watched and followed . But hey it’s a results game .

On a different day we could have had three minimum. Excellent saves from a classy keeper from the bits I’ve seen .

I would love to know the stats on “ball in play” on that match. It was one of the worst matches I have seen at VP this season. Would anyone have missed the ref? Totally useless. He let them get away with all that time wasting 5 minutes is standard in an ordinary match, I thought he might add on 10 minutes.

They aren’t poorly watched though are they considering their location. They’ve always had low attendances.

It seems everyone knew it bar Alexander, Lapslie must be one hell of a player in training, (I love him really) at least if it is Stevenage in the play offs we'll know how to counter their stone age football won't we...........won't we ?.

The worst game of football I've seen in a long time.....probably since October against the same lot!! They were also helped that day by an appalling ref.
As has been said, there were no surprises today. We knew what was coming but simply didn't deal with it. Losing Bobby and Tyreiks continued absence really hurt us as we had nothing going forward down the left side. Also a blow to lose Ashby after his excellent game on Monday as Josh has been off it for a while.
I dont want them in the play offs as I hate watching teams like that, but if we are to meet, GA needs to watch that back and come up with an effective plan, as they only play the one way.

You need a strong referee in those type of games, pointing at his wrist watch and saying I'll add time on really isn't the point with regards what Stevenage were doing, everyone in the stadium could see it bar Mr Reeves.

I cant remember him even once warning them or asking them to speed things up. Ref had very little control of that game from start to finish. Would love to know how long the ball was in play for today. Not that we were doing much with it anyways, many many off the boil.

Although I agree with most of your post, I'd like them because they don't seem able to change how they play even though it brought them success and their in the mix for a play off spot, we know what's in store for us as they have little in the way of a player who can win the game with a bit of quality, Kemp took his chance well but it was more or less a free hit.
I'm sure the lads are fuming with todays performance, we need to get our heads up and accept today was a bad day at the office.

When the ball was in play, it spent most of the time in the air, I’ve got a sore neck after watching that

Frustrating that the officials let them get away with the most blatant time wasting I have seen in a very long time.

Poor keeper had shin pads that kept needing to be adjusted at every dead ball kick. A team of thugs is what I saw from Stevenage. As soon as they saw the ref was weak they just tried to batter us into submission and I think it worked.

Their keeper drops the ball after colliding with his own player and a City player and gets a free kick. Bizarre decision.

Tilt gets kicked while laying on the pitch after being fouled then gets booked for being angry about it. Straight red for me for their player. Ref and officials bottled that big time.

Losing Bobby did upset the team dynamic as we were well on top when he went off.

Lapslie really didn't hurt them and got hooked.

Subs were made too late for me again.

Wouldn't have taken Metcalfe off though.Unless he was injured?

Quite funny at the end watching one of their players staring the main stand out while clenching his fist.

For the sake of the game of football-especially the Championship- I hope to god they don't get promoted.

I'm not blaming the referee for the result today but possibly an early yellow would have given him an easier game to control, I'll have to see the replay of both supposed fouls on their keeper the first the lad did well to catch it but I believe it was his own player who he fell over, and the second was baffling, as I say a rerun of both incidents might make it clearer.

Not sure Nuefville is all that strong.
Be interesting to see how Lincoln deal with Stevenage next Saturday.

We did from the first minute today actually. The early injuries and lengthy stoppages did us no favours at all and halted us in our tracks after looking lively for first few minutes.

After that Stevenage controlled the tempo, or lack of, of the game. They are very limited, but are very awkward to play against.

Although way off our best, on another day a keeper is not saving them Powell and Sarcevic efforts and we at least get a point, if not win.

    No negativity from me tonight.

The second one gets given as a foul everyday of the week. Rightly or wrongly, when a player jumps into the keeper while he's collecting the ball it's always given.

As for the Tilt one it looked like their player jabbed a toe towards the ball under Tilt's body. Players do it all the time. It was hardly like he swung a leg at him. I'm happy for someone with a better view of the incident to tell me what made it so aggravating?
