Something I mentioned weeks ago. The idiots who though allowing taking dead ball kicks from any side want certifying. What is it supposed to bring other than wasting time .?

 

You can’t just shout “ leave it” or “ mine” especially in a pen area, without saying a name , as they would be all at it ? Thats what I was taught.

 

It's a bit of a myth that, if you are saying it to a teammate there's nothing stopping you. I think it's partly taught to make sure players put a name on it to avoid confusion or doubt and also because some genuinely believe it is the law. What you can't do is say something like "leave it" if you are doing it to distract/trick an opponent

 

Agree you couldn't when I played the game, as you say as long as a name was called even if the name was wrong the referee would play on.

 

That’s what I just said , where is the myth? That’s why you only ever hear “ keeper” in the box . Nothing else otherwise anyone shouting “mine” or “leave it” in the area would get booked , I think for ungentlemanly conduct?

Perhaps he should have made the changes earlier, Not even sure Stevenage will make playoff looking at who they have left to play. Although I think we would beat them in the playoffs
