I actually think there is a good play in there if only he could sort his finishing out ............ i mean i aint defending the lad but when your head does go sometimes rational thinking goes way out of the window :(

We don't give mom for away days but every blade of grass had Bobby's sweat on it, both halves. 2nd half was a team performance but special mention to Virgil. Was disappointed when we signed him, I sure got that wrong. Think the Wycombe fan whose post is above doesn't like him.

Are we just ignoring that he cost us a goal then?

Also, Cauley Woodrow? That's your benchmark? Really?

Did some great stuff going forward but didn't like going the other way as quickly. Have a look at their chance on the highlights that almost crossed the line. Ashby is goalside before the cross, let's his man justwalk off him and still hadn't broke into the 6 yard box when the ball is cleared.

There's multiple examples of him just jogging back too, you'd be able to pick them out in the extended highlights I'd imagine and I honestly thought he was going to be hooked at half time.

Certainly a player with good quality though so hopefully the desire to defend improves a bit with an extended run and better match sharpness.

Agree, far more mobile than Evans.

He did cost us a goal, but redeemed himself with a very good defensive performance thereafter, and scored the winning goal.

I have no idea why you have such a negative view of Baldwin, you really struggle to give him the praise many of his performances deserve.

Baldwin made an error in that pass, which to be totally fair to Wycombe, they exploited very well.
I didn’t exclusively watch Baldwin and sometimes given the camera angle and the view drifting in and out of the shadow from the stand, it was hard to pick out who was doing what.
On the whole, from what I saw, I thought Baldwin had a very decent game.

My choice for player of the season yes he made a mistake which cost us but redeemed himself with a goal. And let’s not forget the tackle he made in the previous match which saved us two points

    Fair comment.
Humphrys missed a one on one yesterday but because Bobby was aware and scored it doesn't get mentioned, yet if it had been Wheatley it would have certainly been mentioned, all pros footballer missed guilt edge chances even the best.
The comment about him looking like he couldn't be arsed was when he didn't get a run on goal and passed the ball back down the touch line on the Midland Road side which went out for a Northampton throw, we should never be turning the ball over that easy, maybe frustration would have been a better comment, I stand corrected.

I said he had a steady performance, which he did it you critique his while 90 minutes, including the mistake. There's absolutely no negativity in the post whatsoever, it's like you're searching for it just because I aren't showering him with praise.

I actually thought Curtis Tilt was the best of the back 3 but that's only my opinion, everyone else is welcome to theirs.

I agree Bronco, that definitely couldn't be attributed to laziness. He picked up the ball and drove 40 yards while leaving a couple of defenders for dead. The less said about the pass though the better.

Glad you mentioned that shadow Rod , I thought it was my eyesight. It was more spot the player than spot the ball!

Wouldn’t say Humphrey missed it he made the keeper parry it towards Pointon. I thought he he had a decent game

I haven't seen it again since the replays yesterday and not defending the error, but it did look like a misunderstanding between Baldwin and Evans. Immediately prior to the pass I was just about to praise Baldwin because everyone was expecting another long diagonal and instead he turned inside and completely changed the focus of the (potential) attack. Evans seemed to be looking for the ball to be played outside and behind him, which was strange because it meant he was blind to what was in front of him, but Baldwin played the ball inside Evans and the Wycombe player picked it up. Total misunderstanding.

I think he was asking for offside and watching the replay he probably has a case. Angles from the half way line are never ideal for judging it, the only defender who might play him onside is the one behind Tilt but impossible to say due to the angle and you can't see the defenders feet. Either way I don't understand why he goes with his head with the ball that low and he has to take the blame for not attacking the ball.

    Hello Ethan :)

Joking - my comments were mostly tongue in cheek. However, I stand what I said about mentality and it being one of the main assets of elite footballers. GA said his head is not in the right place, we can see that his head is not in the right place, and the deleting, untagging and dissociating his time here, I think proves his head is not in the right place. Good luck to the lad. There's a footballer in there somewhere, and I hope he doesn't go the way many Premiership youngsters do. I hope we as a club can get him back on track.

ps I saw his Louis Vuitton tracksuit on his instagram page. Very nice if you're into that sort of ting.

So when Wheatley does the same its not classed as a miss in a one to one situation, all credit to Bobby for making up the ground to stick it away if you watch the replay back the defender on the floor is trying to get up but slipped allowing Bobby a split second to get his shot away.
It's not a direct criticism of Humphrys I was trying to point out when its other players bar Wheatley they seem to class it as a good save,.
Anyway as I posted many times now were in the business end of the season all that matters (to me) is we get the three points, if we can match what Stockport of Bolton do well finish 3rd in the table and thats now in our own hands, I'd love to think Cardiff could go on a shocking run, sadly I believe they have a squad good enough to still be in the autos.

My take on Humphrys attempt, was that he was intent on trying to score. He didn’t make the keeper parry it in the direction of Pointon, that was a none specific ‘random’ result of his shot, the keeper just wanted to block the effort, which he did. I am not sure Humphry’s was even aware that Bobby was as close. All credit to Bobby who pounced on the opportunity that had arisen and put it away well, helped by the slipping defender.

Evans was poor again. Metcalfe bolstered us when he came on, I agree
