Until it's mathematically impossible there's always a chance but an incredibly very slim chance as it requires perfection from us over the last 5 games and Cardiff probably going winless in the last 6.
Even if we win and they lose on Saturday I'd say it will still be very unlikely.
If we win the next 2 and they lose their next 3 and we are going into the Plymouth game with a chance to overtake them with a win ahead of them playing Port Vale the next day then that's the point I would start believing it's possible.

 

If Metcalfe had pace and cuts out the odd ball loss and he’s going to be worth a shilling or two. He changed it back to a strong middle of the park.

Correct, it wasn't. The ball came back out and hit the front of the post, not the side. This would mean Walker's save would have to have gone out and then back in to hit the post front on, in physics terms it's nearly impossible.

Naturally I dont think we'll do it, but we could get a tease over the next few games. Cardiff have 3 tough games then 3 easier fixtures so could even reclaim their lead late, late on.

Regardless, I dont see our away form as magically fixed, so we'll surely drop a few points.... but if we don't, it could be squeaky bum time for a very different reason

The problem we've got this time is that we are still quite a distance behind and they have a game in hand. Last season we ended up in 3rd at the end as we collapsed slightly less than them. With 6 games to go this was the table

In the last 6 they got 5 from 6 and we got 8 from 6 so even if Cardiff repeat what Walsall did we would need 5 wins from 5 making it 7 wins in a row to end the season which is a huge ask

 

What a fantastic result today and the makes the ground out win on Friday all the better. Second half was great performance. What a season this has been.

 

I was referring mostly to their collapse post Xmas . Remember they had won 11 on the trot ( ?) until we played them , then they collapsed. Over a long period for sure.

 

Who's he play for ?.

 

Cardiff have Northampton and Port Vale at home, 2 utterly hopeless teams they will beat convincingly - so even if they lose their other 4 that puts them on 84pts which means we need to win all 5 of our remaining games. Either way we havent got a chance of finishing 2nd, left it far too late.

3rd is very possible, 4th or 5th more likely.
