Sorry but if we were sitting in 20th a few points above relegation it would have been a miserable season aided by poor recruitment, zero ambition and and folk calling for heads.

We are in L1....its not a great league. Fast forward to a possible Championship season and you may have a point.

 

Aim was to stay in the league and we have done as for ambition you do know that this owner will never ever throw millions at it and in this climate i dont blame him.

Btw League 1 is a lot better than bumming around in League 2 isnt it ?????

We all want Championship football but at what cost ????

 

Whose aim was that? Yours? It certainly wasnt the clubs. They went on record numerous times to say they didnt get promoted to make up the numbers.

L1 is still the lower leagues and its full of dross. The standard at the top is better but from 10th downwards its a pile a shit. Weve hardly spent a bean and sit 4th, Lincoln have walked it and they aint big spenders. Kinda answered your own question on the quality....

 

Have you forgotten already the six previous seasons. We just about made it last season and if we had done a poll in the summer most people would have predicted us to finish roughly where Doncaster and Wimbledon are going to finish or even lower. No matter what happens now we have done well for our first season back at this level. The challenge now is to build and grow the team

My late dad followed City from post war and 1st took me late sixties and always said he would never see City at Wembley as then the only way was the fa cup final and later the league cup. In 96 we were there together, unforgettable

I have the odd friend who doesn't watch football (never trust a man who doesn't watch football) and says what do we see in 22 guys chasing a pigs ladder round the pitch, those are exactly the moments they will never experience.

 

Listen i do get very pissed off some times with the way we play but the bigger is that we are playoff bound and thats something to be happy at least considering the majority of us would have been over the moon with simply staying up

Like ive said, the mentality of the club has changed for the good, I just wish the happy to have a club crew would change too. They were fed shite for years and ate it up. And seem happy with just surviving.

 

Not everyone thought we'd simply be happy / lucky to avoid relegation...
