When asked about what he thought Alexander would say to his players at half time Mark Bower said virtually the same thing, we've gone in 1 - 0 down to a very unfortunate goal, he expected us to come out play the same way and win the game comfortably which we should have done.

 

I think we'd have to implode like Exeter did for us in 2013 for us to miss out on the playoffs. Us and Bolton look safe, any one from Luton up could take the last two spots, i'd be worried about one of those teams hitting form at the end of the season as none of the others look fully convincing and i include us in that.

 

I'm thinking 3 wins will get top 6 comfortably especially if 2 of them are against Stevenage and Plymouth. When I mention pressure I mean that it's expected we will get the play offs but with our away form it makes it important we pick up at least 2 wins at home and what we can't afford it a bit of panic in the stands as that is the only thing I think will stop us.
The interview on radio leeds was a good to take some of the conversation around the players and put it on the referees and how opposition play. I think how he speaks in the press is one of Alexander's big strengths as he always seems to get the balance of protecting the players and being truthful about what he really thinks

We got a lot of decent crosses in the other night what we didn’t have is anybody in the middle to get on the end of them.

 

I think his mother is ill. I seem to remember something about him having his hair shaved short as a show of support for her.

 

We don't have anyone in the squad that thrives on crosses. More chance of Joe Wright being on the end of one and he never plays

 

Who said any game is easy? Tough opponents is a stretch. They are 15th.

 

His mum is going through chemo I believe, hence he's shaved his head.

 

Cook was out of favour and wanted a move though didn’t he…..fair play to him for wanting to play and not rot.

I know GA wanted the lad at burton and we missed out of him…..the other signings we ended up getting might not have been his first choices.

i think Jackson will do better than Cook would in L1….shame he’s injured.

 

Cook didnt want to stay and be a bit part player though. Fully understandable as he is more than capable of leading a line somewhere.

Mullin has been harshly treated here in so far as he’s never played in our strongest teams. One of the stattos will prob know but I cant remember him playing with Bobby and Sarcevic - the key players for creating anything.

He’s played in some away games where we were thrashed with rotated sides - with players like Sibley on, not Bobby. Never gets off the bench at home anymore.

GA will point to the league table and that’s his get out of jail answer in fairness….but I’d say Jackson was a good signing, Mullin has been mismanaged. The rest have been poor.

 

Mullin has played plenty of league one games to know what we're getting and we're getting exactly what he's shown on previous attempts at this level .. not a lot!

He's just not good enough unfortunately and given the results the management is getting from this squad to blame them for Mullin failing is pretty bizarre.

 

If we are sticking to our usual M/O of playing 3-4-2-1 I'm not sure why we signed him? It's clear Alexander favours a quick athletic type upfornt whereas Mullin is more what you would class as a goal scorer. But then Alexander also gets to see them everyday in training, maybe he isn't impressing in training enough to persuade Alexander to put him in? I've no idea just guessing to be fair.

 

I’ve been looking at the SKY bet odds and we are 1/25 on to make the playoffs,which for non gamblers it means you have to put on £25 to win a £1. Strangely Bolton who are just 1 point above us are 1/500 on. That’s a big difference for just 1 point more.

 

It was a weird game. Personally anyway as i was up in the gods in the main stand as my team were the guard of honour (Guiseley Girls). They had a great time and it was a great experience for them.

As for the game, we were the better team. Just again lack any quality in the box. Or is it the balls in? At this point it's hard to know...

I didn’t know, or understand the relevance of the shaved head. Hope they both are ok.

 

Sad times for anyone in those positions …. for sure .
