Although the 3 points were important, what really pleased me was the commitment and endeavour shown by the players for the cause
They really do have the fight in them to overcome most of what is thrown their way
I have no doubt that with or without the idiotic referee, we would have won yesterday, but his performance galvanised the players and the fans and the pure joy on the final whistle was an honour to be part of
We just need to take that into a few away games now

Take Sarcevic and Pointon's goals away and who would we consider to be the man who could get us the goals we need, so far this season Alexander has persisted in giving the role to Humphrys and lets be honest he hasn't delivered, would Swan be that man he's scored a few but hardly prolific, Mullin that looks more and more like a signing to win over the fans after Cook left, will Jacko get the goals, another Alexander is trying to shoe horn into a position he's not played much, that my thinking mate.

Just watching the Port Vale game and that foul by Ellborg the Sunderland keeper who lunged into the Port Vale player not even touching the ball and he gets a yellow, if that's not a red then I fail to see what is.

I’d rather see Tilt in the centre and Touray at LCB. Wright has been roughed up a few too many times for my liking.

I'm not against change but as you know coming on for 20 minutes can give a false impression of how good or bad a player performed, as it turned out yesterday without doubt bringing Humphrys on (and playing him in his natural position) turned out to be a good call.
As I posted Jackson wont be available for Wednesdays at Vale, and IMO Alexander won't start Swan on what could be a quagmire of a pitch if we get more rain (although apart from the bounce the pitch looks worse that it is and certainly helps the Vale players) because its Swans first game back, would he go back to his old ways and play Humphrys up top and Bobby in his normal position, which over the season hasn't produced the effect most hoped it would, I'd be very surprised if he started Mullin but who knows Alexander is a law unto himself, having said that the position he's got us into in the league its difficult to argue about his tinkering.
Wednesday around 6:30 pm will be a very interesting time to see his starting 11.

But what is so unfair is that Baldwin’s trailing leg only hits him in the stomach because he also dives in recklessly and, significantly, after Baldwin. He was nearly laying on the ground when Baldwin’s foot hit him. There is a good argument that the collision only happened because the attacker went to ground lunging for a ball that he had little chance of reaching.

I have to keep repeating , a fifty / fifty attempt to get the ball by both players as you perfectly described. There’s likely visual evidence therefore their lad came in late , so he needed booking?
    It’s football for gods sake!

Wheatleys had a frustrating start for sure. Like many think there is a player in there. Learning his trade right now. He should have at least 1 goal by now on the chances he has had. But remember McBurnie couldn’t score for city as a young lad. He seems to have had a good career.

Judging by the games I've seen, he looks like he'd be better as part of a two. I don't know what his stats are for Man Utd, but he doesn't seem to have that goalscorer instinct. The chances he's had so, far have all finished with a tame effort that the keeper has easily saved. He just hasn't put his foot through any of them. He does seem to press well but he'll need more than that. Kav presses well and look where he's ended up.

Yes, it was blatant play acting. Deliberate cheating to get Baldwin sent off.

Just watched that video. One thing I noticed was how quickly Metcalfe was in to have a go at the Orient player who hacked Pointon down from behind. Shows how strong the team spirit is within the side.
