I agree with all that. By the "2-0" comment I was trying to suggest that at only 1-0 you leave yourself at risk - we should have been 2-0 but we weren't. I agree Wheatley looks out of his depth and all your other points. The wing play was the worst part for me - we should have done so much better, but Reading did what we didn't - they stopped our crosses... we didn't and paid the price.

The post I replied to said, "(we) brought Joe Wright on and conceded twice", which to me was suggesting he was at fault.

 

We've done that in other games this season and it worked well, but obviously not today. The problems were more basic than that - stop crosses and defend the box... simple but we didn't and paid the price.

 

That's absolutely the point. No one knows who to mark. And both their goals came from crosses which no one competed for.

I know Sarc is the lucky omen (usually), but he wasn’t effective in the 2nd half and should’ve been replaced. I don’t get running him into the ground every time he plays.

 

Agree. But it doesn't help when you keep changing the defenders every away game and then 'in game' as well.

 

During our run in last season he did exactly the same and cost us points, I believe the goal was scored within 60 seconds of Wright coming on, don't you think that maybe disrupted a defence that had done so well for the previous 89 minutes, I'm certainly not writing us off but once again we made it more difficult than it should have been.

 

Also all those teams paid money for quality strikers/players . We begged stole and borrowed.... that was my concern after we somehow won against Fleetwood. Investment. .......I hope I am wrong ....

 

For me it was just very poor management.

It was almost like there was no communication from the bench.

When he makes his last centre half substitution usually there is generally around a minute to go, yet it was blatantly obvious today that there were still around 10-15 mins to go given all the injury time. Someone must have realised that.

Possibly, but why then compound it by taking off the only player who was holding the ball up, thus increasing the pressure on the defence lacking it’s best player
