Still pissed off about yesterday i was over the other poor away performances pretty quickly.............plans till the end of the season is to get behind them at home and when it comes to away games just pee off out at 1:55 to avoid yet another piss poor line up and then sitting through a first half of complete shite only for him to realise yet again hes got it badly wrong :(

Honestly the last two home games and even parts of the Luton game had me thinking a big corner had been turned but that yesterday poor again and its all avoidable

I would go A everytime and if we fail down to tiredness or injuries then hes blame free for me .........we sadly aint got enough cover in depth to make whole sale changes and he needs to realise that ............whats gonna happen should we need results away from home to secure a playoff place ???
He will after go strong so why not now ?????
What happens should we reach the playoffs is he gonna fook about with the line up then ????

Just go in strong and worry about the outcome should it happen ..........Sarc and co could breakdown at anytime even in training ........

Interesting stats from Adam at WOAP:

"But let’s look at the stats over the last eight League One games:

Cardiff City – 17 different players used in the starting XI with 14 changes across those eight games.

Lincoln City – 14 different players used in the starting XI with 6 changes across those eight games. As a bonus stat, Lincoln City named the same side six games on the bounce in this period, winning four and drawing two.

Bradford City – 23 different players used in the starting XI with 20 changes across those eight games.

City’s ‘rotation’ is disproportionately heavier than the two best sides in this division. Two sides with greater budgets and greater squads than Bradford City, but choosing continuity in their team selections."

They appear to choose continuity over rotation....

Edit: apologies, hadn't seen that @Bigrod@Bigrod had posted this earlier!!

Yeah but imagine when you’ve travelled 5 hours and then you get the bombshell that Kelly is starting?

If GA is struggling to put out a strong team away from home then I think he needs professional assistance from another manager, or consultant if we have such ppl. I don’t want him to be sacked he has been very good for us, and we need continuity. Also I know he doesn’t want to dwell on poor results as he wants to concentrate on the next match, nothing wrong with that, however we have a real problem in our results away from home. The play offs have an away leg, and if we don’t sort this out sooner rather than later then it doesn’t matter whether get into them or not.

Sometimes it is necessary to have someone to cast an eye over your plans.

The problem is, he’s quoting games when we were flying at the beginning of the season. We’ve lost 6 of the last 7 away games so his argument holds little water about making multiple changes. I really hope that’s the last time we see that many changes again.

The other problem is he's telling the squad players that he absolutely must play them, then calling it "their chance". It's not their only chance, though, if he's still definitely going to have to play them again in the future.

Kinda removes the urgency to perform.

I'm not disputing that you've answered that question sincerely but in GA's mind he thinks that fielding the same side away is going to scupper our home form and over a run of games we'll get less points. I can understand his rationale. He's better placed than me to know what the capacity of this squad is. I'm sure that by the time the play offs come round we'll be playing a team fresh enough to play all three games especially if we can get a place sewn up before the last game of the season.

My post makes absolutely no reference to refunds or individuals so I have no idea why you've commented on that.

My post responded to this post of yours:

"When I thought some of you couldn’t get any more bonkers it’s now being suggested Alexander is throwing away games to win home games.
I can understand a level of disappointment but honestly some of you must understand football as a completely different game to me."

I was attempting to point out 'my level of understanding football' as a qualified FA Coach with many years of experience but then you respond sarcastically about seeking 'FA Approval' for opinions.

But then you criticise other forum members for their own opinions:

"Seems we a number of experienced EFL managers and highly qualified medical staff on this forum who should be advising Alexander on how to pick a team."

You seem to want to have it both ways in your argument....

Have you checked with the Cardiff City and Lincoln City managers and their highly qualified medical staff about their rotation policy?

It also clearly tells them that they're not first choice and will only be picked for the "lesser" games. With a squad of our size you won't keep everyone happy. Your Lapslie and Halliday type of character seem to be few and far between. Had he made fewer changes and got a result then those brought in might have believed they did well. As it stands, those brought in will believe they were responsible for the defeat and will be even more disenfranchised.

He'll reverse those 5 changes maybe against Rotherham and if we win will say it worked

It really hasn't though has it? A side with promotion aspirations should see a home game against relegation threatened team as an absolute must. To cement those ambitions you would expect to also be picking up points away from home, and not see an abject surrender like we saw at the weekend against a bottom half team with poor home form.
What Saturday has done is heap lots of unnecessary pressure on the team to get that win tomorrow.

I came to say this... sort of.

He said in an interview he's made 5 changes before and we've won. Were they off the back of an away match where he messed with the lineup then fixed it for the home game by any chance?

Anyway, we could all see what was going to happen. I turned it off at half time.

Where was Lapslie? This is the second time in a month he's brought him on to see out a game then just dropped him like a stone. He's barely had a look in, but when he has he seemed to do as well as could be asked of a player that hasn't had any minutes. Certainly better than others! Lapslie is a GA signing too, we paid money for him.

Lapslie probably isn't up to the standard needed to be a regular starter, but he's competent, reliable and a decent pro. He would surely have been a better and more effective stand in than Sibley who came in from the cold and was like a rabbit on headlights before he was rightly hooked.

I wasn't defending him, just pointing out that he can justify it to himself perhaps but really all he's doing is correcting a *@?$ up

I fear all the loan signings will have minimal impact for us, perhaps only Wheatley.

I think Jackson will turn out to be a decent signing, and of course he is ours.

Yeh I see that too. But when he was signed, you'd have hoped he was deemed league 1 quality. As we were in a good position at the time.

GA seems to relish it. He loves to tinker, almost as if he gets a kick out of thinking if we can win, he can then beat his chest and say ‘my players are fully bought into my plan and I can start who I want and we’ll still win’, except we don’t! We look disjointed, create nothing, and lose.

he deserves all the criticism this week for not subbing Pointon at all and not subbing Sarce until the 94th minute vs Stockport. Both could have been hooked sooner and given a better chance of starting in London.

Touray, Baldwin, Power, Metcalfe, Pointon, Sarcevic and Jackson are all undroppable. Rotate others around that if you really have to but make sure the above are fit to start every week, and manage their minutes accordingly.

White, Sibley, Lapslie and Kelly should only be used if we are down to bare bones and its a case of starting them or a youth team player.
