Huntington for me, with Baldwin and Shepherd either side. That said I'm not sure Hudlin starts games?

 

Somebody said he doesn’t start many games but even if he did we really shouldn’t be worrying about a player like Hudlin.
His record over the years is piss poor for somebody with such a height advantage over nearly every defender he plays against.
I remember when he played against us previously and for the majority of the game he was the epitome of “a lump of wood”.
Yes he scored (which is his job) but with the more streetwise defence we have now I wouldn’t be in the least bit worried if he started today
In fact I’d prefer him to start over Baker-Richardson.

As long as he does not lure Shepherd into another silly challenge,and give away another penalty,especially considering todays ref.

Yes an old head plus he's our tallest defender at 6'3" he'll know how to lean in and make it difficult for Hudlin not to get run on him old head verses a rookie in comparison, as some have said Hudlins not been a starter lately but in games Huntington's played for us this season the guy never stops talking/organising and has been a rock.

 

He’s not started any of the last 5 games.

 

The last game he started was Fri 24 Jan 2025 against Swindon where he opened the scoring but Newport still got beat.

Apparently the ref is a nightmare. Crew manager had not a good word for him. Eeek!

 

To be fair, you could say that about 95% of refs at this level!

 

Same for me. I think Huntingdon has earned that starting spot and just edges out Shepherd who moves to the left instead.
