I’d have settled for a point before the game and happy with the point given the red card. However, after watching Newport for 90 minutes I think it’s safe to say we would have won that game with 11 men (probably should have won with 10).

Liked the look of Mellon and Adaramola.

 

A very good point away from home and under difficult circumstances. The team showed some real grit and determination.

 

A good draw that feels like a win considering what we had to deal with today and we didn't even play our best player. I just can't see us not getting automatics this season. We can beat any side, especially at home

Well no negatives from me, effort and desire was there in abundance today, thought Mellon played well and will continue to contribute for the rest of the season .....

 

Very good display again, with a decent striker we take all three points today. Defensively we look as good as I can remember since the Parky days. We're definitely going up, no one in top seven is any better than us, defensively we are better than most of them.
In a way I'm actually disappointed we didn't take all three points, that's how good we are right now.

 

Patto, Kav, Wright and practically Pointon and Shepherd all had full games rest.

I think it was a fair decision Kevin. However it’s the inconsistency that irks seen those not given plenty of times

 

vital away point against a stacked deck...these are the points that make a difference in the final table as it could have easily gotten away from us.

 

Could be a massive point at the end of the season under the circumstances.

Showed a lot of bottle to ignore a contentious decision and with a bit of composure could have nicked all 3.
Adaramola had an excellent game on his debut and fit straight in.

It's probably a good practice game as well as I'm expecting a similar type of game with us having to do a lot of defending with Birmingham having probably around 60% possession.

Mellon getting 75 minutes can only be a good thing.

 

In the circumstances, actually a better performance than the last 2 home wins. 7 from 9 following the Wimbledon defeat is an excellent return and could easily have been more.

 

The ball seems to stick with him better than Kav. He needs another chance. Hard to totally judge him when we have ten men

 

Newport commentary team said the ref was appalling and we were basically robbed by his officiating. They even suggested Mellon should have had a pen when he went to shoot in the 2nd half although I would like to see the incident again.
