One of the best signings we've ever made. At our level there are not many who can do what he does, and his career record of success is unbelievable.
As for whether he stays beyond this season, I think it will depend on the length of contract offered. If it's just 1 year, I think he'll go sadly. It may actually depend on whether we get promoted.

 

I’m pretty sure for both Sarcevic and Baldwin the club has one year options to extend their contracts.

Fans didn’t give him enough credit imho. Replacing Power at basically the drop of a hat was no mean feat, whilst keeping the clean sheet and getting the three points . Well done lad!

 

Absolutely. I think he did really well in the circumstances. OK, as he says, some of his passing was below par (albeit he made plenty of good ones as well) but his tackling, covering and reading the game was spot on. Having his know how and experience is, I believe, a massive boost to the squad for the run in. Having him able to deputise for Power and/or come on to bolster midfield numbers to protect a lead could be crucial. He’s a massive upgrade on Leigh and Pattison in my book.

 

Absolutely an upgrade especially as neither of those two could play the “ defensive “ side of the role . Leigh’s shocking attempt at heading on the edge of our box said enough. He just couldn’t be arsed in that game . I wouldn’t put Patto in that category but defence wasn’t his game either.

 

Patto’s strength was his shooting and his ability to carry the ball forward at speed. But this season there were several examples of him coughing up possession in dangerous areas. Evans is a definite upgrade on him, and for Leigh it’s not even close.

 

Why is is that every manager at every club seems to have a player that they rate, when no one else can make any logical case for rating? (Kelly in GA case).

I wondered the same but Alexander said Curtis had come over to the dug out complaining about his leg, similar to his last injury so he thought it best he came off, hence why Baldwin came on.

 

Potentially 5 promotions from the 7. Good shout, you certainly know your football.
