I think city played quite well at Luton. The pressing was there unfortunately the finishing wasn’t

The extended highlights are up, just watched them. Wow. That was some performance. Two main observations now. 1. Tyreik Wright was unrecognizable from what I’ve been reading about recently. 2. Continuing my love in for Metcalfe, the highlights show his free kick from behind him. The ball was put well outside the post and drew back in almost perfectly.
Anyway, same again on Tuesday please (result wise).

Yes agree, always judge on long, medium and short to get a full picture . Defining the boundaries is the hard bit . Since last Wed , our form is a country mile better than theirs , Luton, Bolton , Huddersfield , Lincoln, Bolton, Wycombe. Not a guide to “form” whatsoever. ;)

Don’t agree, if we had lost and he mentioned it , the interpretation would be …” He’s blaming the players” . Good managers don’t do that in public.

The "poor" away from is overblown, obviously we are not as good as we are at home, but we are slap bang in the middle of the away results league table, and were 5th in it before the trips to Town, Lincoln and Luton - three of the top six for home form in the division.

When does Metcalfe hit the future England international stage like Burke and Crichlow did (with some fans)....?

My fear was that it would cut up, notably it didn’t. I sit fairly close to the pitch in the Main Stand. About 15 rows back. If you go into the top tier and look down, then it really does look bald. A far from perfect playing surface (Jackson hit a nasty bobble when he was in on goal at the start of the game), but to be fair it has held up well. Looking at the forecast, Monday seems to have intermittent light rain and then from midnight it is dry, sunny, with a light wind. The conditions should help. However it must be vulnerable with two full games over four days.

Although Everton will get a chunk of the fee that Metcalfe goes for (if we're still in L1 next season) then at least we'll be able to agree a sell on clause with wherever he goes to benefit from his next move (which Everton will get a cut of again!!). So glad we took that opportunity to buy rather than loan when it became an option. Smart gamble.

lt was a strange game in respect of possession. I looked a couple of times during the match when there was a stoppage. Peterborough apparently had more possession than City and it only changed later in the game.

So it wasn’t ‘simple possession), but what we did when we had the ball.

A tremendous display, which will long live in the memory.

The score flattered them, it could easily have been five or more.

Biggest concern with the weather for Tuesday is probably that the forecasted temperatures are 0 for the match then -1 for 10pm, what we can afford is what happens in the Liverpool u21 match a couple of seasons ago where the pitch starts to freeze and kills what grass there is

I agree. I accidentally came across is and it's 4/5/6 which isn't appaling. I think the problem is that apart from Leyton Orient the other five were terrible performance and most of the draws were not an advert of a L2 promotion chasing team.

Yesterday was a great watch in what was the most entertaining game since probably Cardiff away.

Of course it helps when you're playing a side as bad as Peterborough were. Genuinely, they must not have done a single piece of homework on us because they played straight into our hands.

Irrespective of that it was first class in terms of attitude and application. That has to be the blueprint for the rest of the season. None of this hoofball nonsense, ball on the floor and in behind defences.
