We have 8 home games left and who would back against us winning them all. That’s 24 points and sees us comfortably in the top 6.
We could , but won’t lose every away game left and it won’t matter.

The only away game that matters is the Wembley final. Ha

First time we've put a 90 minute performance together for some considerable time, again with the caveat they were that bad they turned what has been a long ball team in the last few months into prime 80s Brazil. I don't believe the injury in the warm had much bearing on the result, they would still have tried to play that tippy happy non press no tempo game and thats the perfect style for us to play against.
I'm being reserved in my judgement because I don't think you will see a game like that again all season, I expect far more difficult games against teams near the bottom.
Not saying I didn't enjoy it though, football is all about getting you off your seat and yesterday was full of that.

So as usual I have slept before making a comment
Yesterday was a pure joy to watch
I don’t care who the opposition was or what their current form or injury situation is
We were excellent right across the team
Hard to pick out players for special praise as all played well, but Metcalfe was everywhere and deserved a goal
We won’t play like that every game so just enjoy the moment
The only fault you could pick was the finishing
On to Tuesday and a very difficult proposition
We should go into this match full of confidence though

Their play out from the back approach did suit us perfectly. They elected to play to their own strengths rather than attempt to nullify ours which is what most teams have done recently, but simply couldn't cope with us on the day.
We had to be at it from the get go, and to a man we were. Tuesday will Im sure be very different game, but I agree that yesterday we deserve all the credit.

You think Baldwin (and the rest of them) had been playing well over the last half a dozen games?

You're overegging it Park. Their form in their last 6 games is 50/50. Basically mid-table.

Sam Allison had a good game yesterday. Not often you can say that about refs but the game flowed well yesterday!

Antoni Sarcevic is still our most influential player! Metcalfe was brilliant and my MOM but to a man we were excellent. Did Sam Walker have more than a couple of saves to make? Brilliant stuff. Should have been 6-0

Sarcevic has always been out most influential player.

Even though he looks like he’s blowing out of his arse 5 minutes in to every game he is consistently in the right place to influence games and we are nowhere near the same team when he’s missing

Yes he has his occasional off days but they are very rare.

I should add that Metcalf is also becoming that player that we just can’t afford to have missing.
Didn’t see yesterdays game but recently in the poor bit of away form he’s been one of the few players that can hold their heads up.

I thought they played well against a very good team in Cardiff and ok against Luton other than that no collectively but you just picked Baldwin out as usual. If Baldwin had mistimed his great sliding tackle yesterday you would have crucified him

I'd have criticised him if he'd given away a daft penalty?

Yeah, that's kinda how it works park. Keep going though, you'll get there one day.

In other words, folk can pick the stats to choose their narrative.

Most important things is to play the team in front of you and adjust your tactics in the match to beat them of needed.

You missed a cracker from him yesterday, BBB!

it was a complete performance from Metcalfe. Getting stuck in winning balls he wasn't entitled to, one sublime (long) hook pass out to the Midland Road touchline where Neufville was waiting. Hit post with a free kick too. A real joy to watch!

Not really. Teams have completely different profiles home and away - as we know too well.

bearing in mind their outstanding away form, yesterday’s battering from us was even more impressive.
