Earlier today West Yorkshire Police began a search of Valley Parade after this man went missing, a spokesperson at the stadium said he was later found in Aiden Baldwin's pocket

Unless that person knows the 4th official they can't confirm what happened, they are just guessing from some images. Even if they did have an ipad nobody can say for certain that the ipad is what made the 4th officials mind and not that he saw the handball in real time.

Setting aside all the no goal controversy, I'm still pitching for Metcalfe being our most important player at the moment.

In the first half he's making tackles centrally, and passing left and right for Touray and Neufville. In the second half we make two subs and start that long ball nonsense and its goes to pot but things calm down when he starts being passed the ball again.

He's very assured and happy to receive the ball, turn and pass. This is why it's important for our central defenders to be comfortable to have the ball and pass to him and Power and not just aimless hoofing bypassing him.

I wonder why it took so long then, for the 4th official to inform the ref?

Put him in a team that plays through the middle and on a top class surface (ours was cutting up like a good to soft horse racing circuit) and you'll really see the lad shine.

Well will if that’s true it supports our suspicions , if a decent opposing supporter reports the same from their end.

From my vantage point in the MR, it seemed to happen only after the huddle with the Donny coaches and their tablet had concluded. That must be the way that VAR is organised in Lge1

I think the challenge is going to be - were any of the cameras showing the ref and his actions? In the PL there are so many cameras that at least one would have a wider view showing the ref's reactions. Of course, most cameras follow the goal scorer but in the PL there are so many to show many angles. I haven't seen any views that show what the ref did after the ball was put in the net.

Exactly. None of us have any idea what was being shown. Although at the end of the day, the decision didn't impact the result. I'd expect the club to refer to this in their match report to the EFL. Although 4th officials can advise the ref when they've spotted an infringement, the EFL may well need to provide clarity on what the 4th official can and can't use to help him. If not, it will become uncontrolled and a free-for-all in some future games.

That's Ben Parkinson on the right....often called the most seriously injured veteran to survive the Afghanistan war
I saw him at Doncaster earlier in the season as our coach was pulling out of the car park, I thought he was a Sheffield lad.

think the ref was dealing with their players moaning, he was alerted that one of his officials wanted to speak to him but think they only have like a vibrating thing on their arm so the officials press a button and it vibrates rather than two way radio. He went to the Lino thinking it was him after telling the players to calm down. Then went to 4th official

would be interesting to see how long it actually all took as he only added two minutes on at end of first half

When the Jackson shot went in I didn't celebrate as I clearly saw the handball, so I was watching the officials closely to see what the decision would be.

The referee was definitely hesitant at first, due to the reaction of the Donny players. There was then a clear interaction between the referee and the assistant at that end. It seemed to me that the assistant was indicating that he hadn't seen an infringement and at that point it seemed that the referee was indicating to the players that the goal stood. It was then that the Donny players persuaded the referee to consult the 4th Official.

Now, I can't answer the iPad question either way, but what I can confirm is that, from my position in the main stand (top tier, front row), I (and others around me) clearly saw the handball and that our line of sight would have been pretty much the same angle that the 4th Official would have been viewing from (although his view was from a much lower elevation).

So, providing no iPad came into the decision making process, then the decision making process was correct.

The 4th official isn’t allowed to watch replays back. I don’t know what happened but I’m sure it’ll be looked into. My point is if he’s found to have watched it he won’t be an official much longer or he certainly shouldn’t be.

Agree this ridiculous time wasting from pretty much every team these days is becoming tedious.
It’s time the officials put an end to it. Unless a player is unconscious having a cardiac or a serious leg break then the game should carry on around them, it would stop with immediate effect.
And this includes goalkeepers going down with cramp in the final minutes, if they choose to do that then they cost their team a goal, it’s that simple.

and their officials will be in trouble too, which is what I said yesterday at the end of the game. It will be easily cleared up by CCTV

Tyreik scoring that screamer should hopefully boost his confidence. If he can nail down LWB it really helps us as we need Tourays pace at LCB

Not sure how the 4th official made the call from the dug out area watching this sequence he would have been right behind the incident with Jacksons back to him, how the linesman didn't see it is more of a concern.
